TP-Link calls the Archer C5400X a gaming router, yet the one area where it's conspicuously lacking is gamer-oriented features. Cynically, I find myself wondering whether TP-Link is trying to woo gamers simply because they tend to be less cost-averse than regular consumers.
Fantastic performance and range; Eight Ethernet ports; Friendly; feature-packed interface
The price; obviously; Not much here for gamers
This is WiFi 5 (802.11ac) WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is available and has many advantages
We have posted a quick (well, somewhat) video of the interface of the TP-Link Archer C5400X MU-MIMO AC5400 Tri-Band Gaming Router. This video is simply a walk-through of the interface features and setup and shows off just what you are getting for your hard-earned money.
Lacks the basic feature of loggin device connection/disconnection, making it impossible to debug connectivity issues properly, and to check if someone is accessing your network without permission.
It may be big and expensive, but TP-Link's Archer C5400X combines first-rate speed, range and built-in security to rule over all other gaming routers. Long live the king.
Excellent performance; Triband design; Customization potential; Security software
Big; Can't aim antennas; Expensive
The TP-Link Archer C5400X is an excellent enthusiast-grade router which retains an easy-to-use interface. It's incredibly fast, it covers a very wide area, and QoS shaping routines inside (and a not insignificant processor and memory combination) means it's ready for anything.
Very fast; Simple frontend; Swift setup; Exceptional 5Ghz performance
Very expensive; Not the nicest-looking device
TP-Link has released their latest gaming-focused router, the Archer C5400X. As the name implies, the AC5400X offers tri-band Wi-Fi speeds of up to 5400 Mpbs across both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Good overall performance; Integrated 8-port Gigabit switch; Robust security; management; and QoS features; Easy to setup and configure
Price; Extreme looks
A router designed for gaming enthusiasts, the TP-Link Archer C5400X offers solid throughput speeds, built-in malware protection, and support for Alexa voice commands and IFTTT applets.
Fast throughput performance; Lots of LAN ports; Works with Alexa and IFTTT; Built-in malware and anti-virus tools
Expensive; Large footprint; Short on game-centric features; So-so file transfer speeds
Purchased this router to replace decade old Linksys. Provides pretty good coverage throughout two story property. Worked for little over a year and WiFi stopped broadcasting. During investigation, the WiFi had been disabled in setting due to "WiFi restricted in your country or region" error;...
