My plans were to hook this up to two computers and two Dish receivers and then leave to hook ups in other rooms for lap tops if needed. so far it has worked out great. My next step is to add video com. so my parents can see their grandaughter, I hope it will work. Wish me luck.

Mains converter needed & supplied
The only minor issue is that, rather than a native UK power supply unit, it came with a two prong PSU and a converter so it could be used in a UK socket. This works fine, but is rather bulky. That said, the device is working just fine.

Best Switch

NETGEAR Mini Switch Ethernet Gigabit 8 ports 10/100/1000 Mb GS608
Didn't have a single problem with it, just plugged bunch of cables and that was it. Forgot about it. After a year different issues stared to happen to my network. I believed it was Virgin.
Pros:
- Small
- same design as my router
Cons:
- failed after 13 months
- not possible to nicely stack up with router

Good build quality
This netgear switch has great build quality. The front has large illuminated number indicators to show activity. It is easy to read even from some distance. It shows green for 1000 MBps connect and orange for 10 Mbps connect.

Excellent fast reliable home networking

Works great
I added the switch to add several A/V pieces into my wired network and it works just as I thought, great. I like the color coding on the lights to show the speed of the connection to the items.

Work great for my home network.
Great product, love it. I use it every day on my home network, every port is in use and no issues. No installation required just plug it to your home router and you're ready to go.

Works well. Simple setup.
Basically plug and play. Needed a couple more Ethernet ports than my router has. Simple enough to plug in and up and running in minutes.
