DJI Mavic Air
Excuse the pun, but drone photography is taking off! DJI's Mavic Air is one of the more popular models for drone photography, and for a few very good reasons.
Fold It Up, Carry It Away
One of the great advantages of the Mavic Air is its foldability and portability. The drone is described as "ultraportable" drone which can be folded up and put into a backpack, or even a large pocket.
Portable But Panoramic
Dramatic panoramas are easier than ever to create. The Mavic Air can stitch together 25 photos in eight seconds to make super-sharp 32 MP Sphere panoramas.
Smooth And Clear Images
The 3-Axis Gimbal & 4K Camera offers a vibration range reduced to a minuscule 0.005°. In other words, shaky and blurry shots are a thing of the past. The 4K camera can record at 30 fps, capture HD video at 120 fps, and take 12-mp still shots.
Safer And Better Flying
All that photographic wizardry is at risk if flight safety is compromised. The Mavic Air is equipped with sensor systems and other technologies that greatly enhance its flying capabilities. These include Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems, which help the drone bypass obstacles in front of and behind it.
Connectivity Reaches New Heights
The Mavic Air has enhanced Wi-Fi video transmission to maintain a better signal and connectivity. This new transmission system gives you a 720p live view from up to 4km away.
A newer model DJI Mavic Air 2 was released in April 2020.

Crazy smart, compact drone.
Love this!! I have had a drone before, the Phantom 4 so I've had some experience flying with DJI's products and this is no exception. A small & light drone that is crazy smart. I've recently taken this to the beach for the maiden flight and threw it into sport mode and no trouble at all following...
[Review] DJI Mavic Air | 6 months later, is it still worth it
Ever since DJI released their brand new Mavic Air model, it seems as though Spark and Mavic Pro went to the never-never-land . Their sales have been steadily dropping over the course of the last couple of months, all whilst DJI Mavic Air has been making quite the havoc out there.
Believe the hype !
A mechanical masterpiece. If your just getting into drones, get this one, no doubt about it. Construction is of the highest order, everything feels solid to the touch. Compact too, when folded, about the same length as a iPhone 6,7 or 8 plus.
DJI LACK of Support
Just a word of warning to anyone who's considering a purchase from DJI, the units are great when they're functioning properly BUT if you have a problem and need support or repairs from this company, don't count on it. From day one I had communication issues between my drone and the remote control.
Go fly and so much more
I was torn between this item and the Go Fly set from Best Buy. I was going to buy it from Best Buy since it was cheaper, but they didn't have it in stock, so I ordered this. And I'm really glad I did. While $70 more, it comes with way more than $70 worth of extra items.
Possibly The Best In It's Class - Needs A Good Mobile Phone
I have only been flying drones for a few months and I started with a GoPro Karma as I could use it with my Hero 5 camera. I know some of those are famous for falling out of the sky but my one has been pretty good but did have total loss of control for no apparent reason and it nearly hit a building.
DJI Mavic Air
Sitting in between the beginner-friendly and the more premium , the Mavic Air is the Chinese company's mid-range, mini 4K drone. The Mavic Air is is smaller than the Mavic 2 range, but still manages to pack in 4K video recording at 30fps and a range of handy, automated flying modes called...- Incredibly compact and convenient to carry around
- Easy to fly with intelligent flight modes
- Great video quality
- HDR and panoramic still images
- Includes built-in storage
- Need to opt for the Fly More Combo to get the most out of it
- Switching between control methods can be fiddly
