Unlike the rest of the headphones here they do have a secret weapon. Noise Cancellation. If you sit in the tail of the Airplane, there is a lot of noise. These headphones cut the roar down to a loud whisper with noise cancellation engaged. It makes all the difference.

Noise cancelling; easy to drive even from Phones; good sound

can sound slightly nasal; somewhat dark tonal balance

Top notch noise canceling headphones

General Info As the fourth of four noise-canceling headphones I tested, I'll start right out by sayi

great passive and active NR; decent price; regular AAA battery

others in class just a bit cheaper; not great bass sound; hot ears

These headphones are very comfortable and truly block out a lot of the ambient noise. On my recent trip aboard a commercial airliner, I had to remove these headphones for all the announcements. These are a great alternative to the more expensive Bose.

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B Good Value

For the money difference in these verses Bose Quiet Comfort these stack up nicely. They don't turn off the outside world but they do tame the droning engine sounds that reverberate in your skull on a long flight.

Compact; Durable; Good Value; Great Sound; Lightweight

Not As Good As Bose

Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7b QuietPoint Noise-Canceling Headphones

At $200, Audio-Technica's ATH-ANC7b QuietPoint Noise-Canceling Headphones don't offer much

Consumer testers said the headphones did a good job staying in place during use; Adjustable; Fairly durable; Repels water well; Comes with an airline adapter and a hard case

Sound quality is somewhat poor; Consumer testers found the headphones fairly uncomfortable to wear; Large profile means they'll take up a lot of space in your bag

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 headphones

Even though noise-cancelling head gear can be found in earphone form, there's no substitute for a good pair of full-size cans. And that's what we're looking at here. At around AU$299, Audio Technica's ATH-ANC7s are comparable in price to Sennheiser's terrific PXC 350s and are on sale now.

General sound quality; Decent comfort; Excellent noise-cancellation; Concealed battery compartment; Detachable audio cable

Treble performance is weak; Sound quality in passive mode is poor; Sound leaks at higher volumes

Audio Technica ATH-ANC7 headphones review Review

Audio Technica's ATH-ANC7 headphones are a comfortable pair of cans. Noise-cancellation is excellent and sound quality is good -- bass and treble are well balanced and mids are clear and prominent.

General sound quality; Decent comfort; Excellent noise-cancellation; Concealed battery compartment; Detachable audio cable

Treble performance is weak; Sound quality in passive mode is poor; Sound leaks at higher volumes

great sound, seems like the noise cancelling works well

great sound with the anc on

Was mowing today and could only hear the blades of the mower deck spinning as they are at a higher frequency than the mower itself

slightly weird fit; i suspect it will become better
