Nikon D800 review Review

It's easy to fall in love with the Nikon D800 on account of its build alone. It's a very 'human' construction that manages to pack all of the key shooting tools into a compact space without leaving you overwhelmed. The pictures themselves are bright and packed with detail.

Great image quality; Well-considered construction; High resolution; Great price

Nikon D800 Review: Major HD Upgrade, But Is It The Best DSLR For The Money?

The Nikon D700 was the last great pre-video DSLR. It was an excellent and very boring camera. Nikon's newest, a $US3000 body called the D800, introduces two major features: HD video and a 36MP sensor.

A great camera!

Very happy with the D800 and that J&R delivered it very quickly! IQ is excellent. The camera can see much more than my eyes can do in the near-darkness. Exposure delay for 3-sec plus self-timer helps a lot while I'm waiting for a L-plate.

Convenient Live View; Exposure Delay up to 3-s; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Generous Shadow Pushing; Good Image Quality; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD; Power Low-light Focusing

Need 8G RAM for RAW PP

Nikon D800 Review

In many ways the Nikon D800 doesn't feel like a natural upgrade to the D700, but rather a new line in Nikon's full-frame DSLR line-up.

The Nikon D800 is a fantastic all-rounder capable of producing jaw-dropping results on both photography and video fronts. Outstanding stuff from Nikon.

The camera controls you'll need most are neatly located within easy reach when you're prepping your shots; Buttons on top for shooting speed, ISO and white balance ensures you've got everything you need at your fingertips and within easy reach.

The large images taken by the NIkon D800 can be a strain on lower-specced computer set-ups; even your higher-end desktop or laptop will have its work cut out juggling photo editing working with photos taken by the Nikon D800.

Nikon D800 review

The Nikon D800 has been a very eagerly awaited camera, and on release it did not disappoint, providing many points of discussion. It is the company's second ‘enthusiast-level' full-frame DSLR, following the release of the D700 some three and a half years ago.
