Nikon D800

The Nikon D800 has impressive specifications but that is just the beginning. Its 36 MP sensor with ISO 50-25600 sensitivity is capable of shooting at 4 FPS and capturing full 1080p HD.

Considerably higher resolution than peers; Very low image noise; Good color-accuracy; Excellent dynamic-range; Very fast autofocus; Quite fast and responsive; Ultra-short black-out; Flexible self-timer and exposure delay; Very sharp LCD; Highly customizable with plenty of controls; Dual memory cards...

Sharpening introduces artifacts quickly; Some under-exposure; Poor AWB indoors; Increased softness at ISO 3200; Strong anti-alias filter; EC button placement not ideal; Asymmetric card slots; Highly inconsistent Live-view; Bizarre Auto ISO; Exposure Delay mode hidden in menu; Highly sensitive to...

Best Image Possible but at a cost

Love the images it produces but the files are so large I had to re-gear. I upped my main hard-drive from 1tb to 2tb and put away all my 4 & 8gb cards and replaced them with 32gb cards. Also I miss the 6.5fps of my D300's -- the 4fps just is so noticible a difference.

Best Digital Image Period; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Good Image Stabilization; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD

Massive Files; Only 4 Fps Capture

I have been using Nikon's D800 for the past 6 months. I bought it second hand and I'm more than happy with the pictures its producing for me. Its FPS for sports in its FX mode may be a little on the slow side, but when you switch it to the DX (x1.5) crop mode, its able to hit 5 FPS which is a much...

More down sides than up

Disappointed in the images as compared to my expectations, based upon what I'd been reading. I certainly did not do an exhaustive comparison, but to my eye the pictures were no better than my D300 and the green tint made for more work in post processing.

Controls Akin To My D300

Did Not Fit My Hand Well; Green Tint To Screen; Huge Files Slow To Load; White Balance Difficult
