I've had the D800 for over a month and I have to say that trading up from the D90 was the best decision I made. Coupled with NIKKOR lenses, my images come out incredibly sharp and crisp and I could not be happier.

I've been using my D800 for a couple of weeks now, and it is just fantastic. Incredibly detailed images, and surprisingly it does VERY well in low light, beating the D700 at high ISO settings. Build quality is excellent.

Brilliant camera!

Absolutely beautiful camera to use. Upgraded from the D700 and didn't think there'd be much difference. Boy, was I wrong! The clarity on this camera is amazing. Large file sizes, but that's not a problem.

Heavy and Useless

Amateur Photographer POV. 1 Star I picked this up on day one from a local nikon store.I have upgraded from a D70. I have faced the following issues compared to D70. 1)Its heavy. My wrist starts to hurt in no time.

Nikon D800

Several years ago, Nikon announced the D90 - the first digital SLR that could record video. Clips were short, at under five minutes, and restricted to 720p, but it was the start of a revolution. And we're not exaggerating, because SLR-based video has changed the world of TV and film production.

Image quality is insane; video is nothing short of superb; camera layout is practical and simple to use

Expensive; big images can cause buffer to fill too quickly; LCD panel hard to focus by; will cost you a fortune in lenses

Nikon D800 review Review

It's easy to fall in love with the Nikon D800 on account of its build alone. It's a very 'human' construction that manages to pack all of the key shooting tools into a compact space without leaving you overwhelmed. The pictures themselves are bright and packed with detail.

Great image quality; Well-considered construction; High resolution; Great price

Nikon D800

The Nikon D800 is a professional-grade full-frame DSLR with a class-leading effective resolution of 36.3MP that is likely to appeal to professional photographers and advanced enthusiasts.

36.3MP sensor produces bags of fine detail; Pro-grade build quality; Phenomenal image quality in all conditions

36.3MP sensor produces huge file sizes; 4fps may be a tad slow for some pros' needs

"Love it, Love it Love it, the Nikon D800 is my favorite to date."

When I got my hands on the Nikon D800, it had the same solid reliable feel of my last camera, a DX40 but as I began to explore what it could do I was smitten, the resolution is amazing, and the video output is superb.

Fantastic picture quality

The price is a disadvantage; but not insurmountable

It's a great camera

Having been using Nikon Cameras since 1995 from FM10 to D70 in 2005 and now I have this D800. I have been everywhere working but also love taking pictures. The camera gives real great pictures. The 36MP gives every detail you could wish for.
