Professional DSLR Nikon 800

I'm a professional editorial and lifestyle photographer. I currently use and/or have used various different camera systems including the Canon, Hasselblad, Mamiya and Nikon. I've been a Canon shooter for nearly 5 years working with the 5D MII and the MIII.

A great camera!

Very happy with the D800 and that J&R delivered it very quickly! IQ is excellent. The camera can see much more than my eyes can do in the near-darkness. Exposure delay for 3-sec plus self-timer helps a lot while I'm waiting for a L-plate.

Convenient Live View; Exposure Delay up to 3-s; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Generous Shadow Pushing; Good Image Quality; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD; Power Low-light Focusing

Need 8G RAM for RAW PP

It's great camera - the image quality is superb

It's great camera - the image quality is superb. However, and you'll find this in other reviews also - the LCD screen has a weird yellowish-green tint to it and the shutter is super loud. That said, the images come out fine (no tint). It's a good pro-level camera.

great camera, still has slight green color shift

4th Nikon DLSR. Great camera, but still has slight green color shift. Color controls don't quite compensate. Overall, happy, given that all photography is a compromise. High MP also means increased noise. 800E might be worth the extra $$$.
