Good board. For some reason the esata does not work and gigabyte support is of no help (as usual). But other than that its stable and looks great. Running: 8350 @ 4.7ghz 16gb 4x4 Samsung @ 1800 9-9-9-28 GTX 660 2x in SLi Runs great and the bios is finally not finicky like the other -ud3 boards.

Still working after 4 years of serious gaming

Like I said above, 4 years later I am still happy with it, though I am going to be upgrading sometime soon, this board has held up well. I am a profuse gamer and spend most of my time playing various games that range from low end to modern AAA titles and this motherboard allowed for plenty of...

-Easy to setup whether in a new system or upgrading; -It says durable, and they mean it; Mine has lasted over 4 years including a lightning strike (3.5 years ago) at the house, which fried the network adapter on the board but everything else is still working strong all these years later.

-Connecting to SATA ports can be a little frustrating due to their location and angle placement

High Durability Poor software

Board looks and feels very durable. Installation was easy, bios setup was easy. Software programs like the bios menu and the extra software were clunky.

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5, Support 220W FX 9XXX series AMD 990FX SB950 ATX Socket AM3 DDR3-2000 2-way CrossFire, ...

Nice motherboard, works just fine, was managed to run VMWare ESXi server without any issues. It has IOMMU support so I "pass-through"-ed hardware video card (AMD R7 360) to a guest host - plying 3D games perfectly!

Pros

I can't currently say I would buy this board again. It has been a real PITA ever since I bought it. If I could figure out this problem it has with crashing on power standby I may give it more credit. Another oddity is that it crashes when I try to run the Windows 7 Windows Experience index.

After the hullabaloo of getting this thing initially running it has run ok as long as it didn't go into standby; so far; Only had it running for a few days; Looks pretty

Comes with a Bios revision (F3) that is not listed on the website and didn't support my FX 8370; I had to install an old cpu, (fortunately I had one around) and downgrade to the latest non beta bios (F2).

Upgrade

The Mobo arrived in new condition. After the install the USB mouse and none of the USB ports were recognized. A setting in the bios needed to be changed, "IOMMU" :enable. A tip from the MFG would have been helpful. Otherwise the mobo performs well.

I had the first version of this board when it was released back in 2011. I lost that board to a lighting strike that burned out the VRM section, the CPU survived though. This is still a good board for gaming or moderate OverClocking.

The only Con I can think of : If you are going back and redoing a board to add better audio capabilities; you could have also added more USB 3.0 ports than what it started out with!

Extremely Powerful

This motherboard is an extremely great improvement over my old one and the chipset allows up to 32gb, (currently at 16gb and it's doing amazing) It looks sleek, Fits nicely, A lot of USB 2.0 And 3.0 Ports, ESATA, And SATA ports, Love it. Would definitely recommend.
