Apple’s latest wireless earphone model the AirPods Pro sports noise cancellation and many other high-tech features. These features do come at a high cost.
The new AirPods Pro earphones employ a completely different design compared to the original AirPods released a few years ago and the more recent AirPods 2. The original AirPods models utilise a shell design, which directs the sound into the year. However, an encapsulated design is required for true noise cancellation. The AirPods Pro intends to raise the sound quality bar significantly and has therefore opted for an encapsulated design. The encapsulation is achieved by attaching silicon ear tips onto the edges of the device.
The new Airpods Pro comes in three different sizes. Not sure which size to pick? No problem. This earphone assists you in selecting the best fit by a fairly simple test called the Far Tip Fit Test. This test measures the noise for each size and recommends the optimal size.
The size that the user selects will feel really comfortable thanks to Apple’s ingenious pressure adjustments.
Active noise cancellation
The active noise cancellation relies on microphones located both inside and outside of the earphone. These microphones monitor incoming noise and strive to cancel it out by generating an opposing soundwave. The quality of the sound is further enhanced by the adaptive equalisers, which monitor how soundwaves propagate through the ear canal.
