Ultimate Ears, which was acquired by Logitech in 2008, has clearly produced a very popular Boom product series.
The UE Boom is a 360-degree portable speaker, which launched in the winter of 2013 and has been well-received in the New Zealand market. It's easy tounderstand why Kiwis like it due to it's clever design, great sound and portable nature.
The UE Boom doesn't appear very large when one experiences it for the first time: it's essentially a cylinder-shaped tube 60 mm in diametre and in 190 mm height that weighs 0.55 kg. Its centre of gravity is located near the the base, which makes it quite stable and it isn't likely to fall over in case someone accidentally bounces into it. There's a hook at the top so that it can be hung up.
The speaker is wireless and Bluetooth enabled, and can easily be controlled by Android and iOS mobile apps. This means that you can play and share all your songs on your phone during the barbeque or birthday party. The 15 hour battery life and high sound ensure a pleasant audio experience.
The price around $200 is relatively high compared to other portable speakers sold in New Zealand, but Kiwis perceive it as offering high value.
The successor to UE Boom is the Logitech UE Boom 2. Kiwi audiophiles should also consider the UE MegaBoom. The UE Mini Boom and the UE Roll come at a cheaper price tag and retails at around $130.

Forget Jambox . It's officially been replaced, at least to my ears, by the Ultimate Ears Boom: A portable wireless speaker that sounds almost as good as a much larger home system. It also has a brilliant stereo mode that lets you set up two Booms to act as a stereo pair.
When you glance at the compact speaker you would probably think that there is no way it could fill a room with sound. After all, it is just slightly bigger than a juice box. But the speaker has deceptively full sound. This doesn't mean it can fill a large hall with loud music.

Oh boy, it's YAPBSR (yet another portable Bluetooth speaker review)! Hey don't press the back button yet, this particular little speaker has a lot going for it. It's the UE MINI BOOM and it's made by Ultimate Ears (owned by Logitech), who make some of the best in-ear headphones on the market.

What can I say? Logitech UE, you've produce another top notch piece of hardware that sits proudly on top of my portable audio hardware list. It's not cheap at $250, but you'll be incredibly happy with your purchase and the never look back.
Logitech releases audio products under the UE brand. This tiny 'boombox' falls under the same product line, and we tested it to find out what it has to offer.
After a lot of inter office negotiation I was lucky enough to test out Logitech's UE Mobile Boombox. I haven't been known to put together any flash mob dance extravaganzas, so I looked more to a functional method of use.
The UE Boom can connect via, aux, Bluetooth and NFC; NFC connectivity didn't seem to work well for me but over Bluetooth the music quality was sharp and crisp, filling up the room with great sound.
The UE Boom from Logitech boasts an impressively hip advertising campaign and a promise to make music more "social" again. But past all of the buzzwords and pretty packaging, is this cylindrical speaker worth all of the hype? We take a close look… and can't help but be blown away.
Portable Bluetooth wireless speakers shouldn't be delicate flowers - they're meant to be handled a bit roughly as you tote them around with you. They also need long-lasting batteries to last through the day (and into the night).
