The Order: 1886 review
The Order: 1886 is nothing more than a computer program. That may seem an arbitrary statement, but it's simply not applicable to most video games. Not good ones, and certainly not full, AAA narrative experiences. ‘Experiences' is the important word there.
Pros:
- Probably the best-looking console game ever made
Cons:
- Shooting is average at best
- No respect for player involvement
- Takes control away at every opportunity
- Story and characters are unremarkable
- Little will stay with you

From hell.
The Order: 1886 is a torturer and a tease. It promises you a circuitous story populated with near-immortal knights, it promises you exciting encounters with snarling werewolves, it promises you clever weaponry the likes of which you rarely see in video games.
Pros:
- Fantastic voice acting
- Consistent
- stylish visuals
- A couple of really cool weapons to play with
Cons:
- Overlooks the best aspects of its premise in favor of boring storytelling
- Every gameplay element is drab and rote
- Too little of the cool stuff (guns
- werewolves)
- lots of the dull stuff (looking at things
- walking slowly

The Order: 1886
The concept of cinematic videogames has always been an odd one for me. Why would a developer restrict themselves by trying to emulate the silver screen when videogames are capable of so much more?

PlayStation 4 The Order: 1886 THEORDER1886 review
There was so much potential surrounding The Order, yet it hasn’t lived up to the expectations

The Order: 1886 (for PlayStation 4)
I wish The Order: 1886 was a worse game than it is. I wish developer Ready at Dawn didn't put such clear and concerted effort into making this a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Mostly, however, I wish this wasn't a $59.99 game you'll put down after less than six hours.
Pros:
- Visually stunning, detailed alternate-history Victorian London
- Mechanically functional action
Cons:
- Incredibly short with little replay value
- Repetitive structure
- Awkward pacing
- No multiplayer option

The Order: 1886
Ready at Dawn deserve a lot of credit for fighting for their vision of The Order: 1886 . Theyve achieved what they set out do despite gathering criticism along the way from previews and leaks, demonstrating a satisfying drive for production of their game, not our game.

The Order: 1886 Review
The Order: 1886 is a beautiful yet seriously flawed third-person-shooter. If all you desire is a look at the graphical capabilities of the PS4, then go out and buy this game. From every bullet that you fire, to every beam of sunlight that skews through its pseudo-Victorian environment, the amount of...
Pros:
- The most stunning graphics yet seen on the PS4
- A unique pseudo-Victorian London setting
- An interesting story and a varied cast of characters
Cons:
- Too many quick-time events
- Heartbreakingly linear gameplay
- An obscene amount of walking

"Is it a game, movie, or maimed gam-vie as my friend rightly said?"
I am an avid gamer as my readers would have realised by now by the sheer number of my game reviews compared to anything else. And they must be also well acquainted with my tightly structured writing style with proper sub-headings discussing all aspects of a typical game – graphics, storyboard,...
Pros:
- Breathtaking Visuals
- Flawless Technicals
Cons:
- Weak story
- non-interactive gameplay
