The Order: 1886 Review

The basic conflict at the heart of is that considerations for a cinematic approach are prioritized above the needs of basic gameplay. Its best aspects are its stunning looks, atmosphere, and style – which are truly fantastic – and entertaining fiction.

Completely Gorgeous; Fantastic Atmosphere; Engaging Universe

Quick-time overload; Sluggish pacing

The Order: 1886 review

The Order: 1886 is nothing more than a computer program. That may seem an arbitrary statement, but it's simply not applicable to most video games. Not good ones, and certainly not full, AAA narrative experiences. ‘Experiences' is the important word there.

Probably the best-looking console game ever made

Shooting is average at best; No respect for player involvement; Takes control away at every opportunity; Story and characters are unremarkable; Little will stay with you

The Order: 1886

Alright: May be slightly above average or simply inoffensive. Fans of the genre should enjoy them a bit, but a fair few will be left unfulfilled.

The Order 1886

One of the most anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives was revealed at E3 2013 from developer Ready At Dawn. The Order: 1886 has finally arrived, and the gorgeous and atmospheric adventure game is definitely a unique title for the console.

Mostly Cinematics !!!

5 minutes of gameplay 20 minutes of cut scenes. This game is not a game, it is an animated movie. Don't get me wrong the visuals are great, but there is hardly any gameplay AT ALL. The controls are merely adequate when you do get to use them.

The Order: 1886

Grayson, also known by his knight title Sir Galahad, is a member of the Knights of the Round Table, more commonly known as the Order. Formed centuries ago by King Arthur, the Order exists to protect the British Isles from half-breeds, a species of bestial humans, as well as other potential threats.

The Order: 1886

From the time we first saw it, we were intrigued by the potential of The Order: 1886, more than ready to take to the streets of Victorian London, hunting monsters with centuries-old knights carrying fantastical technology.

This is what you call an Exclusive?

I have found this game very short with 3-4 hours of actual gameplay leaving the rest to so many cut-scenes. This is adding with average gameplay mechanics. This is just a story driven game that should have been better with just one focus, THE STORY.

I will start off by saying unfortunately a lot of what you may have read is in fact accurate. While The Order: 1886 is a graphical masterpiece it has far more in common with titles released by TellTale Games than it does third person shooters like Gears of War.
