An absolutely stunning game to look at, the story is thorough and gun play is fun but repetitive. The world feels empty sometimes though and not being able to talk to NPC or interact with most of the environment meant it missed reaching 4 stars from me.
This third person shooter may be short and linear, but the gun play is extremely satisfying. The environments are very detailed and graphics are very short. However, some cutscenes may be extremely long and would make you think you are watching a movie instead.
When I was a kid, I remember watching my favorite movies over and over again. Repeatedly. I must have worn out my parents' original VHS tapes of the Star Wars trilogy growing up. Alright, let's be honest, it's not just the kid in me.
Superb cinematic presentation; The pacing is excellent; Fun gameplay that makes the experience immersive; Great story and characters
The never ending tutorials; Half-breed battles are boring; as their AI is terrible; Story ends abruptly; as if they lost the last third of the script
5 minutes of gameplay 20 minutes of cut scenes. This game is not a game, it is an animated movie. Don't get me wrong the visuals are great, but there is hardly any gameplay AT ALL. The controls are merely adequate when you do get to use them.
The Order: 1886 is not your typical action experience, as this new PS4 exclusive does things in its own way, which is simultaneously its greatest strength and its weakness. There are two things the Order most definitely is: very cinematic and convincingly British.
Looks fantastic; Gripping story; Some innovative weapons
Too many cutscenes; Clunky game mechanics; Constrained exploration
The Order: 1886 is a divisible title, delivering an incredible cinematic feast than fans of linear action titles will love. Those craving a longer-lasting open-world or replayable experience would do well to stay away from The Order: 1886 though.
Stunning visuals; Interesting premise; Intense shootouts
Short; Overly linear; QTE-fest
The Order: 1886 surprises with a slow-paced, investigative element complementing a strong narrative that is punctuated but not overpowered by solid set-piece encounters. The combat is traditional yet satisfying, with a varied arsenal and well-implemented combat system.
I finished The Order: 1886 in 6 hours and 47 minutes. It was a fairly expansive playthrough, during which I wandered off the path as much as I was allowed to. I played it on normal difficulty, so asid
Looks and sounds incredible; Excellent story and setting; Satisfying combat
Short campaign; Old-fashioned systems; Very linear
The Order: 1886, taking place during the titular year, 1886 follows Sir Galahad who belongs to an elite group of Knights who have descended from King Arthur's round table itself. These knights are sworn to keep the natural order of things, and are the strong line of defence against nature's darkest...
Amazing Music; Memorable Storyline; Excellent Dialogue Delivery; Stunning Graphics; Creative And Fun Weapons; Solid Shooting Mechanics
Barebones Gameplay; Recycled And Uninspired Lycan Fights; Forced Stealth Section; Over Powered Shotgunners
