The Crew 2

"So close but so far" defines pretty much everything about The Crew 2 . It's that most frustrating brand of sequel where all the right ideas and elements are in place but never seem to coalesce.

Game Review: The Crew 2

The original Crew was an interesting experiment that merged storytelling with an open-world MMO setting, the likes of which very few in that genre had done. It had your traditional cut-scenes and story missions mixed with an open ended setting that featured the entire setting of USA.

Spectacular Presentation; Innovative Vehicle Switching Mechanic; Good Roster of Vehicles From Big Manufacturers; Vast Open World; Fun Arcade Controls; Fantastic Original Music

Lacks Structure and Meaning; Races Can Feel Repetitive; Might be Too Expensive for Some; No PVP at Launch

The Crew 2: review

The Crew 2 is an open-world racer set across the length and breadth of the US of A. Players take control of an unnamed racer who is trying to become successful in multiple disciplines, and this sequel features not only cars, but also planes, bikes, and boats.

The Crew 2 – The Verdict

I'd kept low-key tabs on The Crew 2 ahead of release, intrigued by the prospect of switching between cars, boats and planes. It looked fun, and having got my teeth nicely into the first game a few years ago , I was hoping for a similar enjoyable experience.

The Crew 2 is out now, but the first game was one of the worst that I have played for an awfully long time. The build up and excitement surrounding its release was larger than most, and it hurts when you feel as let down by a game as I felt whilst playing it. Nothing about it felt right.

Impossible to play

Played a bit of this game and had to give up because the lighting in the game makes it impossible to see the road at night time and it makes it unplayable.

Fun Open World Racing!

This game is a fun open world racing game, it feels more like I'm playing an RPG most of the time... Something something along the lines of Diablo 3, you grind out the races to get better loot and ultimately gain better vehicles.

Fabulous

I bought this for my Husband to play with the Logitech steering wheel and it did not disappoint. Since buying I have watched all the programs I couldn't when he was moaning that he didn't like that one!

The Crew 2 Review – Wide Open Racer Squanders Its Potential

I'll admit that The Crew 2 is the first racing game I've picked up in a long time. As such, I wanted a game to get truly excited about, like in the days of Burnout Revenge and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Vehicles look and sound fantastic; Lots of customization; Variety of vehicles; Addition of boats and aircrafts

World lacks personality; Voice-acting is just plain bad; Story missing "pull" factor; AI issues

The Crew 2 Review – Boredom Without Boundaries

Games under the Ubisoft banner typically have big open worlds that are absolutely brimming with things to do. I've never played an Assassin's Creed or Far Cry game without, at some stage, feeling overwhelmed by the bombardment of side quests or points of interest.
