The picture is excellent and the sound also with BluRay and 4K discs. Problems occurred when I took some older DVDs +10 years. On several of them, no pointers were shown in the menu selection and the disc was hanging out irresponsibly.

I purchased another 4k blu ray player because my original Samsung one won't play a couple of newer disks (even after updating firmware). This player played this disks perfectly and it's speedy compare to 1st generation players (and gets a lot less hot).

Recently bought this 4K Bluray player, definitely more compact. Set up was a breeze, connected the HDMI cables and Ethernet and was up running. Few initial setup processes to go through such as picture output (screen size, hdmi picture, secondary audio).

Have only watched two 4K discs and they are as you would expect but for me your standard Blu-rays really look a treat, have watched the standard Blu-rays of Star Wars (A New Hope), Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future Parts 1 and 3, the first two Hunger Games movies and all of the Jason...

Regularly freezes requiring someone to unplug the device for a few minutes then plug it back in. After this operation is performed you must retype all of your passwords for the various services. Occasionally you may even have redownload the software updates installed during initial startup.

Good up scaling of ordinary DVD's

Big disappointment in the fact this product was advertised as being able to connect to PSN & Sony Entertainment Network enabling me to access my purchased movies but it cannot; I consider this false advertising & unacceptable

Bought this player to replace my Samsung 8500 player and wow I didn't think I would notice a difference ,but the picture and sound quality are excellent the build quality is also great.easy to setup and update also the firm ware gives you access to Dolby vision too, highly recommended indeed.

My old Sony Blue Ray player was having trouble reading new Blue Ray discs so needed a new one. The Sony UBPX700 does the job well. Added bonus was it's WiFi connectivity and Netflix App function. Very happy with the product.

Always an enjoyable experience buying our electronics from B&H. Ordered 49 LG TV, Visio Sound Bar, and this Sony X700 Blu-Ray. All 3 arrived in great shape function great. Only disappointment, the Disc Player case was dented in the rear, but doesnt show when pushed under the TV.
