Sony PlayStation VR
PlayStation VR is developed specifically for the PlayStation platform with its popular and established user base. Head and motion sensors precicely track the gamer's movement. The quality of Playstation VR can't match that Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, but it's also priced lower. It was announced in March 2016.
A newer model Sony Playstation VR2 was released in February 2022.

The world of virtual reality is here and, when you combine that with gaming, you've got an experience that will truly carry you away. We will look back on the release of the PlayStation VR as the time when gaming underwent one of the biggest changes the industry has ever seen.
- Stunning VR quality
- impressive image quality
- comfortable
- Not a standalone product - you need a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Camera
"Un******* Believable"
Gaming has just opened a window to a new horizon for gamers. Sitting in my arm chair, with the headset on playing the demo disc for VR World. I decided to take the underwater tour.
PlayStation VR review: Virtual reality goes mainstream with Sony's brilliant new gaming gadget
If you're interested in the whirlwind virtual reality trend that's currently taking the technology industry by storm, then PlayStation VR should be top of your list.
Excellent piece of kit
Great piece of kit that can change gaming forever. If you're new to VR you will never have experienced anything like it, and it's one of those things you should definitely experience at least once. The only issue is that many will experience motion sickness.
PlayStation VR
Sony has joined virtual reality gaming with PlayStation VR. The headset represents the cheapest of the "big three" on the market right now, and is the only option for console gamers interested in the technology as things stand.- Amazing games already available
- Simple setup
- Movies look great in the headset
- Comfortable to wear even with glasses
- Better value than Oculus and Vive
- Processor unit needs to be unplugged to power down
- PS4 console desperately needs another USB port to charge all the controllers
- PlayStation Camera still fiddly
SONY PlayStation VR
- comfortable
- Graphics are like PS3
Despite the cable nightmare, the lower-resolution screen and expensive games catalogue, I couldn't recommend picking up PlayStation VR more. It's an absolute blast and, if you can afford the £350 price tag, a must-buy for any avid PS4 fan and gamer.
Excellent product
Wow! Just Wow! This is going to take my gaming and tv experience to a whole new level.
Thrilling and immersive
I have had it for a few weeks now, and the experience itself is exactly how I was hoping it would be. It feels like you are right in whatever game you put in. I do have to say though, the cords are a bit ridiculous.
