PlayStation 4 review: fast, powerful, worth it

Sony's fourth PlayStation console is fast, sleek and powerful. Its new DualShock gamepad is the best Sony's ever made. And the console is just getting started. The DualShock 4 is everything gamers wanted from Sony's next gamepad.

Fast; Powerful; Great gamepad; Beautiful design; Dramatic improvement over PS3 gamepad; Clickable touchpad; The best triggers on any gamepad

Short gamepad battery life; Weak game lineup at launch; Terrible battery life; Analog stick coating isn't grippy enough

Sony PlayStation 4 Review

Sony and Microsoft have online multiplayer for their consoles, but you have to pay for them. PlayStation Plus costs slightly less than Xbox Live Gold for an annual membership, but is the same price month-to-month.

Sony PlayStation 4

Unlike the Xbox One, there is no motion or voice sensor bundled with the PS4. The PlayStation Camera (Est. $70) can be had for an extra cost. While it works well, the PlayStation Camera is not as essential for the PS4 as the similar Kinect accessory is for the Xbox One, and relatively few games make...

Beautiful graphics; Powerful hardware; Competitively priced

No backward compatibility with PS3 games; Doesn't play audio CDs or MP3s; Dropped DLNA support

PlayStation 4 Game Console Review

The Sony PlayStation 4 is here. At $399, the PS4 is Sony's next console after the PlayStation 3 debuted in 2006 (PlayStation 2 debuted in 2000). Players get the 500 GB console, a DUALSHOCK®4 wireless controller, a micro-USB cable for charging the DUALSHOCK®4 controller, a Mono-headset for voice...

amazing graphics; share options (pictures and video); live gameplay streaming options; can play games while downloading; new controller w/touchpad; included headset; cross play options with PlayStation Vita; PlayStation 4 app (iOS and ANdroid); camera system (not included

no backward compatible PS1; PS2 or PS3 disc play; left console shell area prone to scratches/fingerprints; include camera/second controller; no integration with cable or satellite services; limited music options

PlayStation 4 review: One year on, it's the choice console for gamers

One year after its initial release, and to cap off two decades of PlayStation, the Sony PlayStation 4 finds itself in an esteemed position at the tail-end of 2014. The PS4 seems to be winning the new-generation console race against the Xbox One - at least, in terms of sales - and its growing library...

Fast user interface; powerful for producing graphical gaming marvels; holds masses of future potential; Remote Play via PS Vita is fun; strengthening games lineup

Still no media streaming; 500GB storage insufficient; Store download prices are often absurdly high

Sony really got its act together with the PlayStation 4. It created a console that is markedly more powerful than Xbox One, while also significantly cheaper. It plays host to great big blockbuster games like Battlefield and some incredible indie games like Hotline Miami 2.

The PlayStation 4 is packed with impressive next-gen features; You can play PS4 games on your PlayStation Vita using the magic of Remote Play, which is really useful if someone is using the TV.

Sony now charges for online gameplay through its PlayStation Plus service at £40 a year; but as that service offers superb; recently-released games for free every month; including Contrast and Resogun on the PlayStation 4; it's worth paying for.

Sony PlayStation 4 (2015) review: 1TB of storage space proves bigger is always better

The PlayStation 4 remains the gamers' choice when it comes to the latest console battle – but this new refresh pushes it even further into the realms of an all-in-one entertainment system.

The PS4 console delivers on all counts for PlayStation gamers with superior hardware and a list of games that will grow over time. While it lacks some of the multimedia features of the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 can still hold its own as a family entertainment device.

I bought this PS4 console a month ago and liked it. The speed at which it loads is awesome and also great features like the blu-ray player is top notch similar to oppo blu-ray player except 4k pass.
