The Industry Standard

Wow! I guess there's a reason these headphones are the industry standard in most recording studios. Great isolation with very little leakage. Awesome highs and mids and the lows are solid. Not too much bass. These cans are close to perfection.

Nothing works better like old school headphones, the sound becomes alive compared to other headphones. very comfortable for long term use.

Sony MDR-7506 Review

The industry standard for a reason

Good sound for mixing; Isolation; Solid cable; Price

Not for bassheads; Coiled 9.8-foot long cable is heavy and not the most portable; Plastic build

Sony MDR-7506 Professional Headphones

nice, real, no rendering. but... too heavy. If you are planning to wear it more than 2 hours per day, you might need a neck doctor later.

Fantastic For Production or Play

I have used these for almost a full year. I got these headphones on sale after my previous pair of headphones stopped working. Almost immediately after I put these headphones on I noticed an impressive difference. I was able to do more in-depth audio work because of the quality.

I've tried a ton of headphones lately and these sound by far the best to me. I like generally flat sound. I'm more concerned with clear mids and highs and want present but not overpowering bass and low bass.

New Sony MDR-7506 Headphone Black review

There is a huge number of headphones available on the hi-fi and pro-audio markets, but for our purposes as recording musicians the options are usefully restricted. Clearly, audio quality must come at the top of the wish list, and closed-back headphones are easier to use in a recording environment.

New Sony MDR-7506 Headphone Black review

They've been around since 1991, but the Sony MDR-7506s are still great sounding -- and fitting -- headphones for less than $100.

Sony's MDR-7506 closed-back, full-size headphones click with all music genres and are comfortable to wear for hours at a time; They sound excellent for their relatively modest price point.

With a coiled; pro-style cable and lack of an inline remote/microphone; some will find the 7506s less mobile-friendly than more modern headphones.

New Sony MDR-7506 Headphone Black review

Good for neutral listening. The Sony MDR-7506 have a well-balanced sound with a punchy bass that doesn't drown the excellent mid-range. Instruments and vocals sounded good if a little lacking in detail and clarity compared to some other neutral listening models like the DT 770 and the ATH-M50x.
