Sony A7R II
The Sony A7R II is the second generation of a series that set out to prove how serious a compact system camera can be. With a full-frame sensor, the range has offered image quality similar to some of the very best DSLRs, such as the Nikon D810 and Canon 5DS R . All this remains true of this series.
Pros:
- Fantastic resolution
- Great higher ISO performance
- Effective OIS
Cons:
- No flash unit
- Limited battery stamina

I am an architectural photographer who has been using the a7R for the last year + using my Canon lenses with an adaptor and have been very pleased with the results. I was on the fence about the new a7RII when I heard about it because the a7R really has done a great job for me.

Sony's a7R II is a top shot among full-frame mirrorless cameras
Comparing the cameras in Sony's a7 full-frame interchangeable lens mirrorless camera series can be confusing. For one thing, the models have similar names like a7 II, a7S and a7R. Each of the models also has its own strengths. The latest Sony a7R II still sounds a mouthful.

Sony Alpha 7R II
Sony doesn't pull any punches with its second-generation Alpha 7R . The 7R II ($3,199.99, body only) ups its full-frame sensor resolution to 42 megapixels, and it uses a back side-illuminated (BSI) design to keep the low-light performance of its high-res sensor strong.
Pros:
- Excellent 42-megapixel image sensor
- Superb high ISO imaging
- In-body image stabilization
- 5fps continuous shooting
- Hybrid autofocus system
- Hinged rear display
- Excellent EVF
- Dust- and moisture-resistant design
- 4K video capture
Cons:
- Expensive
- Omits PC sync socket
- Overly sensitive eye sensor
- No built-in flash

Excellent camera
This is a excellent camera and works very well, the focusing is much better than the Sony A7Sii, But the video capabilities are not as good, Also make sure that this model is made for the US and not the European version.

Almost perfect
I bought this camera as an upgrade to an A7II I owned, it is superb, image quality is amazing as is dynamic range. Sony's firmwarecentric drive with omission of features to try and make you upgrade ala A7RIII does leave a bitter taste, prime example is ‘my menu' sorely needed on this camera and...

Great camera !!
The a7Rii has so many options that as a retired truck drive, will probably not use, auto works great for me !! My first DSL camera, CX 100, almost 16yrs old, 14,000 photos, still working good !! I past it on to my daughter, but kept some of the lens that I bought though the years !!

Sony Alpha 7R II Review
The Sony Alpha 7R II is a full-frame mirrorless camera that delivers absolutely incredible image and video quality, but it will cost you. Sony doesn't pull any punches with its second-generation Alpha 7R ($1,099.00 at Amazon UK) . The 7R II ($3,199.99, body only) ups its full-frame sensor resolution to 42 megapixels, and it uses a back side-illuminated (BSI) design to keep the low-light performance of its high-res sensor strong. Add internal 4K video recording capability, in-body image stabilization, and a lens system that's getting better and better in terms of selection, and you have a very appealing camera. We're not naming it Editors' Choice—the 24-megapixel Alpha 7 II ($1,099.00 at Amazon UK) is a better option for most photographers. But if you want more resolution than the 24-megapixel Alpha 7 II offers, or if 4K recording is a priority, the Alpha 7R II is worth a look—just get ready to open your wallet. Design and FeaturesThe Alpha 7R II ($1,099.00 at Amazon UK) is physically identical to the other current models in the series, the Alpha 7 II and Alpha 7S II ($2,999.99). It's on the bulky side when compared ...

Sony A7R II Review
Looking back at the launch of the first A7-series cameras very much reminds me of the first time I picked up a Fuji X-Pro1 when it was just introduced. The cameras felt too experimental, with all kinds of bugs, quirks and annoying problems, some of which many of us considered "deal breakers".
