I've been in this business a long time...In the studio, live, indoors, outdoors, you name it and I've played the venue... The old Shure 58 was a pretty good work horse for a long, long time. The beta 58A is a superior mic by far. Hard to find a place or situation it doesn't perform well.
More clarity; less feedback problems; Affordable and road worthy
None I found for a mic at this price
I've been using the infanous sm 58 and 57 for years, time for a new mic-tried this and am nothing short of amazed at the difference in clarity and power. I make frequent use of a ditech vocalist live 4 for harmonies, and this mic REALLY makes a difference in the clarity of the vocals through this...
Mic is not as responsive as I taught, People have to have it very close to their mouths for it to be loud and clear.
Lightweight
Poor Sound Quality
Ordered this and use it for voice projection, not performance, but it works absolutely perfectly. The sound quality is much better than the Samson we had, and the sound is actually much better than the hard-wired handheld that we have. Shure makes great quality products.
I truly love this microphone. It has served me well in every aspect of my musically charged life. Whether you are rehearsing, recording vocals or instruments in your garage for a demo tape, playing clubs or even larger venues, this microphone will cover all your bases for you.
I bought this mic from Guitar Center about a year ago to use for my own songwriting and a church band. Once out of the box, the mic was easy to figure out how to use, and I was able to get it working in no time.
great value; great sound and characteristics
not wireless
I have recently started running pub quizzes at my local pub and to do so needed a good quality microphone that was not going cause trouble, was easy to set up and was nice and clear so knowing I would make quite a tidy profit from the initial investment I decided to pay £120 for the Shure Beta 58A.
Clean sound. Solid piece of equipment. I have total confidence that the mic won't go out on me in the middle of a song. I purchase it after reading other reviews, I am not disappointed. My only regret is that I didn't get the wireless mic.
These are the best mics I have ever purchased in this price range. I've bought 2 sets and I'm getting ready to purchase a third set. We have had zero issues with drop outs, interference, or anything else here at the church. Tried other brands and have had nothing but problems.
