Wireless headphones haven't quite caught the imagination in the way manufacturers thought they would but with the Sennheiser RS 180 headphones being almost child-play to set up, now may be the time to revisit the technology.

The Sennheiser RS 180 has a great built quality to it; Made largely from plastic with felt lining to the headband and covers to the ear-pieces have a subtle almost workman-like look and feel to them, The headphones are fitted with balance and automatic level controls mounted on the right headphone.

These are quite a wide and heavy set of headphones; With a battery fitted inside each can and the charging connector sitting at the top of headband, you'll find the overall weight of 240g can become a little tiresome if you wear them for long periods

All other things being equal, I'd guess most of us would rather have wireless than wired headphones. It is pretty obvious that cords get in the way, cords require you to remove headphones to get up and find an old CD, and cords restrict your dance moves.

Sennheiser is a brand that stands out in the high-end and professional audio industry. They've recently launched a new model, the RS 180 a set of headphones that is a successor to the RS 170, which had a closed circumaural design.

Every so often we come across a product that is a redesign of an existing product and in the case of the new RS 180 wireless headphone from Sennheiser, the upgrade is a dramatic improvement on what was previously a great product.

The system delivers crystal clear audio, which one expects when buying a Sennheiser product; There is no hissing or static when I put a Blu-ray movie and CD on hold and no other interference when channels were changed.

The only downside is that the volume and balance controls are now buttons and are not as easy to find or adjust as a knob which was found on previous models; The on/off button needs to be relocated on the headphones.

Better hearing of many actors low voices

I purchased the RS 180's and after using them for almost 40 days I am completely happy with my choice. I chose this model because they have an Automatic Level Control feature that does a nice job of leveling the volume between programs and commercials, etc.

I've purchased 1 set for home and 1 set for work when they were heavily discounted. I've purchased some bluetooth headphones in the past, but there is no comparison. These simply Rock!

Initially when i picked these up, I was skeptical about it due to the price tag and I hadn't heard anything about the site. I basically said "screw it" and placed my order, getting them in the mail a little over a week later and having friends criticize me for paying $360 for headphones after...

I've had 3 different styles of wireless headphones, all Sennheiser. They were all awesome in set up, sound, ease of use. I'm a Bose customer way back and even if they did make wireless headphones, I'd stick with these. They are pricey but worth every penny.
