...the fastest SSD just got faster!

I have owned a lot of SSDs from my first Corsair R120 which cost over $400 at the time through OCZs, Sandisks & Plextors...RAID configurations and a PCI-E SSD, however I have been very happy with my 512 GB Samsung 840 PRO.

RAPID mode; 7mm wide; high capacity (1 TB) available

IOPS a little low in comparison

This product works great, the store had the product delivered to my doorstep here in Grand Rapids MI relatively quickly (4-5 days from purchase). This SSD is the best value in town as far as SSD's go... One thing the store could have added is a litt...

money well spent

I installed a Samsung SSD drive to replace a hard drive that crashed in an core duo laptop. Drive was simple to install, and with the software on CD, was able to quickly configure the drive. Bootup from shutdown was a quick 30 seconds - instead of over a minute with the older drive.

Fantastic drive with fantastic performance

With the Samsung Rapid Mode enabled this SSD performs like a champ! I had to use the Samsung Performance restoration tool though to stop performance degredation (known issue). You may need to check your firmware and use the tool if needed. It's a one-time operation that went without a hitch

Purchased from Amazon, for $190NZD. Samsung's RAPID software allows caching of some data automatically, giving insane boosts in benchmarks. But otherwise, it's a very good SSD at a very good price point from the right place.

Samsung 840 EVO 750GB review

The Samsung 840 EVO 750GB is a triumph in solid-state technology, combining for the first time vast capacity by flash standards, with lightning performance, and at an approachable price.

Samsung 840 Evo

There are three important things you should keep in mind when buying a solid-state drive: capacity, performance, and pricing. And the new Samsung 840 Evo makes things easy by offering them all, and more.

The Samsung 840 Evo solid-state drive offers overall excellent performance; top storage space; and useful bundled software; at low cost

The three-year warranty is relatively short; and the drive's sequential read speed could be a tad better

Check your OS and MB

Installed perfectly,, that said, WinXP Pro 64 and my MB can't utilize some features associated with SSD for optimum performance. Both HDD and SSD boot from full shutdown under 30 secs. Can't complain though....

Samsung 840 EVO 1TB review

Solid state drives are almost entirely unlike buses. And yet we've been waiting for our 2.5-inch SSDs to hit the 1TB mark for years and now two come along, pretty much at the same time.
