Bought this 3 years ago. SSD fails six months after the three year warranty. Samsung will not exchange for another. New units have a five year warranty. But buyer beware that you will have failure within months of that warranty and Samsung will not help you.

I am reviewing this item after a decent time of a constant use and can confirm that it works great, not a glitch. Something I can surely have my trust in and would definitely recommend. Good price and quality. Would recommend.

I installed this in my laptop about 9 months ago and the performance increase is amazing! I bought an expensive gaming laptop about a year ago and although it was quicker than my previous laptop it kept slowing down at times. A look in task manager revealed that the hard drive was the culprit.

Purchased to upgrade a Mac Mini. Issue: Search for "Performance issue Samsung EVO 840" to get a sense of the problem. Many reports of drive slowing down over time on both PC and Mac. At least one firmware update released; another on the way. Firmware update software not Mac native.

I was glad to get this SSD at this capacity and price for an older laptop that needed some help. I very carefully read the information about this particular offer and it clearly included the transfer cable. I specifically looked for this inclusion!

With the Samsung Rapid Mode enabled this SSD performs like a champ! I had to use the Samsung Performance restoration tool though to stop performance degredation (known issue). You may need to check your firmware and use the tool if needed. It's a one-time operation that went without a hitch

It works. I had problems cloning my old drive due to bad sectors. I bought the software Spinrite V6.0 to fix my old drive, and was able clone it afterwards.

Great drive for the money. The drive doesn't come with a mounting bracket or enclousre for installing into a desktop, would recommend either Item IM1L39979 or item IM1TY0016. preferring the latter one.

Previous to me installing this Samsung 840 Evo 250GB, I had a Corsair Force 3 128GB which used to boot to the desktop in just under 25 seconds, with this Evo its booting to the desktop in 15 seconds flat. Great SSD great Value.
