Samsung 840 EVO 250GB Review

We love speed… and after reviewing the Samsung 840 Pro , we were chomping at the bit to get the 840 EVO in the lab.  Not only does the newer EVO model use newer 19nm 3-bit Triple-Level Cell vs that of 2-bit MLC found in the 840 Pro, but it also features a much more attractive price-point and an...

Samsung 840 EVO 750GB

We've seen many solid state drives over the past few years, and many have been memorable, and many have been forgettable. But it's always exciting to see new technologies emerge that push the boundaries of performance, features, and even pricing.

Slimline design; RAPID Mode for jaw-dropping performance boost; free Data Migration utility; user-friendly Magician software; Outstanding value

"By far the best upgrade to speed up your computer."

I installed this in my laptop about 9 months ago and the performance increase is amazing! I bought an expensive gaming laptop about a year ago and although it was quicker than my previous laptop it kept slowing down at times. A look in task manager revealed that the hard drive was the culprit.

Super fast compared to HDD; Great software; No noise; light

Can be a pain to install if your upgrading an OEM machine

Samsung 840 Evo

There are three important things you should keep in mind when buying a solid-state drive: capacity, performance, and pricing. And the new Samsung 840 Evo makes things easy by offering them all, and more.

The Samsung 840 Evo solid-state drive offers overall excellent performance; top storage space; and useful bundled software; at low cost

The three-year warranty is relatively short; and the drive's sequential read speed could be a tad better
