The AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED offers a unique perspective and rich color images. If you need a wide angle lens, you will love it. The AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 12–24mm f/4G IF-ED is lightweight and perfect for your next adventure.
The Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 12-24mm F4 G IF-ED clearly offers superior performance. It combines a wider angle-of-view with optical characteristics that are optimized for advanced DX-format Nikon D-SLR camera sensors. There is a lot to like about this lens.
Another feature is the Silent Wave Motor. The lens comes with Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM), which is one of the latest technologies. It uses ultrasonic vibrations instead of a gear system. This helps focus the lens and offers precise autofocus operation. It is an excellent addition for those who take a lot of photos and are seeking high quality results.
Plus, the Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 12-24mm F4 G IF-ED features an optical glass produced by Nikon. It can be used with the normal optical glass and provides optimum correction.
With the NIKKOR lens, you have access to the focusing mode. It can be used to switch from automatic to manual focus minus the lag time. All you have to do is turn the focus ring on the lens. As a result, one can switch from manual focusing while at the same time looking through the viewfinder.
Only the internal lens shifts when focusing. As a result, the Nikon Nikkor AF-S DX 12-24mm F4 G IF-ED does not change in size, while it is being operated. This makes it more compact and it can focus closely on distance. The lens is designed with the symbols IF on the barrel.

Wide Angle zoom for Nikon DX 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED
Good all round performer, this lens, especially nice performance in the center. Distortion is well controlled in this wide angle.
New Vistas
This lens opens new experiences. Can't imagine which can be a better wide zoom for DX Nikons. At 18-36mm covers great wide angle range.
The Nikon AF-S DX Zoom 12-24mm f/4G ED-IF Lens Digital Wide Angle Photography
Attached to the Nikon series of D-1 cameras this new 12-24mm zoom is just the ticket for those looking for a true digital wide angle lens. Scalloped hood is standard equipment and protects the lens from flare during normal shooting sessions.
The Nikon AF-S 12-24/4 delivers pictures with a dramatic wide-angle effect (18-36mm full-frame equivalent) on Nikon small-sensor digital SLR cameras such as the D40 and D300. The Nikon 12-24 is great for use in landscape photography, photojournalism and, to some extent, architecture.

ePHOTOzine lens tester, Gary Wolstenholme takes a look at the 12-24mm G ED lens from Nikon. As an innovative lens when it was released, can it hold its own against the new third party lenses?- Excellent sharpness
- especially at 12mm
- Light weight design
- Good build quality
- Decent flare performance with included hood
- Strange distortion signature at 12mm may be troublesome to correct in software
Nikon 12-24mm f/4G DX AF-S
18-36mm lenses have long been many photographers' standard short zooms for full-frame shooting. Here's the equivalent of that range in a 1.5X 35mm lens factor for small-format digital Nikon SLRs only. Small DX image circle allows compact size with constant aperture.
