I bought this lens initially for my D200 but it was in anticipation of acquiring a D3 which I now own. On the D200 it was amazing at the telephoto end but of course a disappointment on the wide angle side. On my D3 it's a real dream. It's relatively light for a fast lens.

Great Lens
This lens is awesome, it has become the lens that is on the camera most of the time because of it's "just right" range. It is pricey, but you know you get what you pay for. Best Buy is a good place to buy it because they are an Authorized Nikon Dealer so it comes with the USA warranty, they offer...
Pros:
- Well made
- super fast
- sharp
- nice balance on pro dslr
Cons:
- expensive

Since I have bought this lens in 2008, I have been just blown away by its autofocus speed. This remarkable lens is superb as an all around lens, a bit heavy but I compensated by getting a power grip to counteract its weight and its balance.
Pros:
- It's very sharp, plus its nano coating its a great bonus
- For its price I recommend a lens filter to protect the front element
Cons:
- Please use a power grip to counter balance its weight and holdability

Favorite lens
This is one amazing lens. The prize tag is high but I find it to be worth every penny that I have to work to own it. The focus is fast and the shots are sharp even in low light and even without the long reach I can crop without much loss.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Rugged
- Strong Construction

Best 24-70mm Zoom lens
The Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 is a great all purpose lens. 1. Super Sharp and contrasty 2. Focuses very fast in all lighting conditions 3. Focuses Close to Subject 4. Has best Bokeh of mid range zoom 5. Built like a tank The only con is distortion at 24mm (however easily fixed in post processing).

Great all aroubd lens
This lens works great with my D700 for low light wedding photography. The bokeh is great at 2.8 and the autofocus is fast as can be. I recommend only using this lens with a full frame camera. I occasionally put it on my D90 but the results are not the same. Overall, I am happy I got this lens.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy
