Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED - Review / Test Report
The Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED exceeds the already very good performance of its predecessor. The center quality is nothing short of outstanding matching or beating the resolution of a 10mp APS-C sensor. The border quality is very good at large aperture increasing to excellent levels at f/5.6-8.

Best standard zoom I have ever used
Best standard zoom on the F mount by far (for FX) - only downside is the size and the price tag.- Insanely sharp - f/2.8 - Weather sealed - Good bokeh - Very fast focusing
- - It's $1800 - Quite large for a standard zoom
Everything seemed to be in good working order so far
Everything seemed to be in good working order so far, I was a little disappointed that it was the older version. I am still working fulltime so I have had extra time to fully investigate.
My favorite lens on my D810!
As a longtime Nikon owner, I have used Nikkor wide primes and zooms to varying degrees of satisfaction. But this time, I didn't want to compromise image quality over price. Before deciding on the 24-70 I also considered the 17-35 2.8.- Consistent Output

- Durable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Low Lens Flare
- Nice Bokeh
- Rugged
- Strong Construction
- Well-balanced On The D810
- High Ca Near Edges
For the price it should be recalled
Nikon should do a recall on this lens for the price I paid. There is a self fix on google, but you have to take the whole lens apart.- great lens except for one big flaw
- The zoom sticks between 45-70mm
Gray market lens
I ordered this lens but returned it.. It's a brand new lens but it's gray market and overstock doesn't state that on web page... Customers need to be notified that lens isn't a us model meaning no warranty coverage from Nikon...
