"Excellent performance, works well with Macs"

The Netgear DGN3500 was my second attempt to replace my aging modem/router, in an environment that includes mainly OSX based machines and a couple of Windows ones. I initially purchased a Belkin Share which, despite having OSX software and the OSX label displayed on the box, didn't work well in a...

Good Modem/Router

I set the router up prior to exchange my old router. Swapped over the cables and it fired in to life. Good piece of kit.

Reliable and stable

It works perfect. I put it on the floor and lock it in a box. (I know this is not a good plan.) There are three walls between the router and the PC. No problem at all. I choose the router + modem, but not the combined one is because I wonder maybe i need to change the modem when the national broad...

Netgear RangeMax DGN3500 review

Netgear's DGN3500 is a neatly designed Wireless N router that works well, but could still be a little more Mac friendly.

Compact design; USB port for sharing storage devices

Setup software doesn't run on Macs

Netgear RangeMax DGN3500 review

Netgear's DGN3500 is a sleek looking but expensive ADSL router with Gigabit Ethernet and a built in USB storage server. Like Linksys's recent routers, it has internal rather than external antennas, so they can't be upgraded to increase the power of your wireless signal.

Netgear has gone for a gloss black finish on the front. The Netgear DGN3500 Range Max router 'sits up' on small rubber feet but these are too small and the router doesn't feel well especially stable. Rather than risk knocking it over, we laid the Range Max down flat.

Netgear's DGN3500 Higher Speed Router : NETGEAR'S DGN3500 HIGHER SPEED ROUTER

It supports MacOS, UNIX and Linux as well as Windows even though Windows 7 was omitted from the list on the box. While at a price of £109.99 it may seem a little expensive, the DGN3500 can be found at lower prices if one looks around.

The rest of the features were still working reliably but this unit does not otherwise have a WAN port. It now serves the house solely as a WiFi bridge.

Gigabit was perfect for streaming HD media

DSL Modem port quit working after only 8 months

Runs great! When it stays connected!

I'm used to Netgear routers, so setup was easy. Speed and range are excellent when going through my 3 walls.

Good speed; Easy setup

Constantly drops ISP connection
