HTC One M8 32GB Android (KitKat) GSM Smart Phone Unlocked

Very disappointed after much anticipation in receiving the phone. Took it to the new carrier and the phone never came on! Had to send it back.

HTC One M8 – My first Week

Life is never dull when you're reviewing all things techie. With last year's One, HTC struggled to get the word out that it might just have the best smartphone on the market, but that was down to marketing. Undeterred, it...

Enamelling its premium-class design dominion, HTC has yet again impressed its patrons with its avant-garde flagship device, the HTC One M8. This gorgeous-looking smartphone can broadly be described as a sterling device crammed with both good looks and impressive features.

There are hundreds of smartphones on the market right now, from major corporate flagships to independent afterthoughts. And while many of those phones are perfectly adequate devices, few can manage the build quality, the aesthetic beauty, the ease and the simple pleasure of use exuded by the new HTC...

Superb build quality; a gorgeous screen; excellent built-in speakers; a long-lasting battery; a processor that keeps on giving; and a feature set that will warm anyone's heart – these are just a few of the long list of things the HTC One does very well

Its rear-facing camera is almost as much of a disappointment as the camera on the original HTC One

HTC One M8 Camera Review

The HTC One M8 is loaded with features and beautifully designed and built but the image quality of its camera cannot keep up with the otherwise great performance of the phone. Images show little detail and a variety of artifacts across the ISO range. Panorama and HDR modes produce underwhelming results and the DuoCam is in its current state of development not more than a gimmick. The One M8 can make a great device for gadget lovers without any imaging aspirations but mobile photographers are better served elsewhere.

Good color and exposure up to highest ISO settings; Very comprehensive imaging feature set including DuoCam; High degree of user control in camera app; Responsive and quick in operation; Useful manual mode, allows up to 4 sec shutter speed; Excellent build quality and premium materials; Nice 1080p screen with good viewing angles ; Decent 5MP front camera; Very good stereo speakers; Good sound quality in video mode; Comprehensive editing options in gallery app;

Less image detail than competitors; Grain and and loss off fine detail even at lowest ISOs; Tendency to slightly underexpose in bright conditions; No OIS means more danger of image blur in low light and shaky video; Strong moiré and purple fringing; Channel clipping in highlight areas leads to cyan skies; Slightly convoluted menu structure in camera app; No focus assist light means camera has trouble focusing in very low light; Unusable digital zoom; Inefficient HDR mode; Small panorama output, many stitching errors in Pan 360 images; DuoCam features not more than a gimmick in current state of development; DuoCam easily covered with index finger; Strong compression and artifacts in video footage; Strong rolling shutter in video recording;

HTC One M8 Eye

The HTC One M8 Eye doesn't offer anything new apart from the new 13MP dual-lens camera. However it still comes with the elegant metal body, a great touchscreen display and a powerful performance package. The updated camera doesn't impress as the overall quality is the same apart from the resolution.

Elegant build and design; Buttery smooth touch response; Offers powerful performance package

Dual 13MP camera doesn't impress; Not much of an upgrade over the original M8

HTC One M8 for Windows review

The classic Oreo cookie is a wonderful thing. (By classic, I mean the Double Stuf, let's be real here.) It's the right combination of crunchy and soft, sweet and, well, more sweet. It's the best cookie ever and I won't hear any arguments.

Great design; Great display; Solid battery life

Performance not as good as Android version; So-so camera; Limited availability; Missing some of Android's best features and apps

HTC One M8 with Windows Review

The Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8 has great battery life, a high-end design, and great specs. But it also comes with Windows Phone's flaws. If you want a Windows Phone, this is the best.

Same great specs as Android version; High-end metal design; Longer battery life than Android version

Limited app selection; Somewhat slippery to hold; Only at Verizon
