HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition review: Hyped Harman Kardon audio feature only amounts to spin
Unless you need a great deal on earbuds, there’s no reason to buy the HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition. Editors' note: This review shares many sections with the standard HTC One M8 review , as the devices are almost identical.- The HTC One M8 HKE's sumptuous aluminum body makes a beautiful background for this top-flight smartphone's brilliant 5-inch display. It runs on a powerful quad-core processor and Android KitKat, the stereo speakers deliver excellent sound, and the depth-sensing camera brings a ton of useful features. It comes with premium Harman Kardon earbuds.
- The One M8 HKE’s special audio prowess is overrated and slathers on the bloatware extra thickly. The One M8’s battery is not user-removable. The phone's sealed chassis is not water-resistant, and the One M8's photos look less sharp than competitors'.
Fantastic phone. As yet, there's nothing that I'd want to change. It runs fluidly, lasts a crazy amount of time, per charge, even without the power saving mode on. Does everything that is needed for today's media heavy user.
At the end of the day it depends what kind of an Android smartphone one is looking for. If one is looking for an extremely sexy and fluid Android smartphone with LTE support, then the HTC One (M8) the one to go for.
HTC One M8 review
There's no doubt that the HTC One (M8) really is a very good phone indeed. With its high quality metal casing, fine screen, powerful processor and capable camera, it has some of the finest hardware available anywhere, and Sense 6 includes a range of features that enhance standard Android to new...- Sleek metallic good looks
- fine HD screen
- powerful processor
- good battery life
- Camera doesn't match quality of rivals
HTC One (M8) Google Play Edition Review: Great But For That Camera
Android purists have a common refrain they like to bust out every time a beautiful new piece of hardware comes out: "If only it ran pure Android!" in F-sharp. There's a pervasive belief that unpasteurised Android - and only unpasteurised Android - directly from the great teat in Mountain View is all...
It was a phone for connoisseurs of design, a lone crusader for a painstakingly crafted smartphone experience sailing in a sea of plasticky sameness that characterized the Android segment.
- An Apple-level attention to design
- great speakers
- Sense 6 UI
- sensible pricing
- No water resistance
- inconsistent camera results
Is this the year HTC topples the mighty Samsung?
HTC's latest flagship is available in retail shops from today. The 5in KitKat smartphone is ripe with improvements and innovations, but has HTC laboured enough on the things that matter to make the One M8 the best smartphone yet?- Excellent design
- Great speakers
- TV remote and EPG
- Low resolution camera
HTC has clearly been putting in considerable effort into its products' industrial design. For years, the company has churned out some of the most appealing flagship devices, running both Android as well as Windows Phone.

- High-resolution front camera
- Very good signal quality
- Clear voice quality
- Very cool accessories
- Good screen
- High performance
- Very precise touchscreen

- ...with a low resolution
- Picture effects really depend on the picture
- Zoe app not yet finished
- Overloaded keyboard
- Cheating during benchmarks
- Not everybody will be satisfied with the camera
HTC One M8
After using HTC One previously for 4 months, I totally became a fan of HTC's smartphones. The HTC One that won many awards and is still getting awards even after a year of its release, truly proved to be the best of that year and the best smartphone I ever used.
