HTC One (M8)

HTC's One (M8) is another work of art, with performance to match. The camera isn't a big step up from the original, but it's still perfectly competent. When looking around, try not to forget this exists. Or if you do, it's your loss

Not a Verizon phone

I'm sure the phone is fine but the description says it is good with Verizon. I tried to set it up on my account and Verizon is saying that the device is no longer compatible.

HTC One (M8) review

HTC has found itself in a peculiar position. After releasing what was considered to be a fantastic Android device, the HTC One, it still finds itself lagging behind Samsung in terms of brand recognition and as well as market share.

The build quality of the original HTC One was in many ways its strongest feature, and the M8 is no different. With a beautifully crafted brushed metal casing- which is made up of 90% aluminium- and the same curved back that fits perfectly in your hand, the HTC One M8 is perhaps the most...

Key Features: HTC One (M8) Review HTC has essentially made a rod for its own back with the success of the original HTC One. It won so many awards last year I imagine HTC had to build a new wing at its headquarters in Taiwan to hold them all.
Pros:
  • Beautiful design and flawless build quality
  • Powerful performance aligned with good battery life
  • Great screen
Cons:
  • Duo Camera feels like a gimmick
  • BlinkFeed and Motion Launch feel unfinished

The new One looks sharp, performs well, has solid battery life and improves on its predecessor in most categories. It's still at the top of our list, but its slick finish makes it uncomfortable to hold.
Pros:
  • Beautiful all-metal design with brushed-metal finish
  • Duo Camera delivers great imagery
  • Top of the line performance
  • Long battery life
  • Motion Launch is a nice touch
Cons:
  • The phone has a slippery feel that makes it difficult to grip
  • No enhancements to the display or HTC's UltraPixel technology

The HTC One M8 is a better smartphone than last year's One. It has improved cameras and software, the display is superb and the design is the best we've seen from a smartphone this year. At the moment, this is the best Android smartphone money can buy. There are two key sticking points, however.
