Google Pixel 4/4XL Impressions: Great hardware but still far from perfect!
At MadeByGoogle 2019 event, Google showcased its new Pixel 4 and 4XL smartphones . These smartphones seriously have some amazing features. There are also some features, which are downright disappointing. Because of such quirks, Pixel 4 devices are not for everyone. Let me explain why.
Google Pixel 4 XL review
We're struggling to summarise our thoughts on the Pixel 4 and 4 XL. On one hand, they're brilliant smartphones, but on the other, we have so many gripes; the fingerprint sensor is gone, Motion Sense is gimmicky and battery life remains middling at best.- Cameras are excellent, playful design, 90Hz screen is great, slick performance and Android 10 software.
- Battery live is middling at best, no fingerprint sensor, Motion Sense is gimmicky at present, the top bezel.
Google Pixel 4 XL review
The Google Pixel 4 XL is still the best Android camera phone… ish...- Excellent point-and-shoot camera
- Astrophotography mode impresses
- Matte glass finish feels great
- Expensive
- given the hardware
- Low storage capacity options
- Occasional UI gremlins
Google Pixel 4 XL review
The Google Pixel 4 XL is a handsome phone in its simplicity that, by the same coin, feels less impressive than its Android flagship counterparts. It doesn't help that its new standout features are inessential, and erratically functional.- Top-of-the-line cameras
- Simple
- no-nonsense design
- Face Unlock is finicky
- no fingerprint sensor
- Low storage options
- Battery life is barely adequate
Google Pixel 4 XL review
There will be a time when the Google Pixel 4 XL might be a great phone, but that time isn’t now. I love the design, the feel, the 90Hz screen and incredible camera. The new on-device natural language understanding is a marvel.- Pros: amazing on-device natural language processing, next-generation Google Assistant, brilliant camera, Face Unlock, Google Recorder app, Android 10 + fast updates, 90Hz screen.
- Cons: poor third-party app support for Face Unlock, Face Unlock needs eyes-open fix, Google Assistant needs G Suite fix, below-average battery life, no fingerprint scanner option.

- Pricey @ $899 For Only 64GB, Only 6GB Of RAM, No Fingerprint Sensor, No Headphone Jack, No Ultra-Wide Camera, Video Limited To 4K30
The Google Pixel 4 XL Review: Stuck In The Past In 2019
We're are the end of 2019 and the Pixel 4 is amongst the last devices released this generation. I'll be fully honest here and say that the expectations for the phone for me weren't all that great, something quite unfortunate to say for any product but just a fact of reality given Google's Pixel...

The launch of new Pixels is now as regular as the launch of new iPhones, and Google's flagships for 2019 are the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL. New Atlas has been living with a Pixel 4 XL for several weeks, and this is our verdict on the new phone.
Google Pixel 4 XL review
Google’s Pixel 4 XL Android smartphone was released late in October. There were quite a few reviews that came quickly, unfortunately, we had a few issues with our review unit. The biggest issue we had was that the device wouldn’t update to the November update.
