The Hero 7 Black has several features such as live streaming, gimbal like video stabilisation and improved microphone
Of GoPro's recent releases, it's the Hero 7 Black that's the flagship model and the one hat will put the GoPro name back in the spotlight.
The biggest talking point is the Hypersmooth feature, one of the more revolutionary breakthroughs in the company's history. GoPro call it "the best in-camera video stabilisation in any camera, ever” and when you see 4K/60fps mode footage using the Hypersmooth feature, it is hard to argue against that claim.
Think of standard time-lapse, where a camera takes frequent still shots and plays them back in a somewhat stilted and choppy sequence. Now think of a major leap forward: a super smooth, stabilized time lapse video allowing for a silky progression through a scene. That's what Time Warp delivers.
The Hero 7 Black is it is the first GoPro capable of livestreaming to sites like Facebook, Vimeo and YouTube, with more sites due to come online.
The SuperPhoto feature is GoPro’s response to intelligent auto modes on smartphones which apply the right camera settings by automatically recognising certain scenes. It’s made even easier thanks to Voice Control, which responds to 16 different commands including "GoPro, take a photo".
That's the challenge laid down by GoPro. They are certainly talking up the toughness of the Hero 7 Black; it's a device that can handle the rough and tumble of the intense action its capturing, while it is waterproof down to an impressive 10 metres.

I have upgraded from the Hero 5 and instantly saw a difference. Video was great before but this is another level. Easier interface makes it even simpler for everyone. Really happy with the purchase and the price which was the best around at the time especially with the half price SD Card.
It kept freezing and I had to pull the battery out to turn it off and I made an enquire online but no one got back to me
I purchased the GoPro Black about a month ago and couldn't be happier. It's stupid simple to work and the images are exceptional. I've noticed that the small size makes the camera less intimidating to others, as opposed to my other "normal" cameras.
Great camera. As a long time GoPro user I've been waiting for a while to upgrade. With this one it's not only the display that makes everything a lot easier (for example now I can actually see what I am capturing underwater) but also the great stabilisation as I often use it for sports videos for...
This is without a doubt the best GoPro so far. The image stabilization is like alien technology: I totally thought it would be "just OK" but it absolutely blew my mind. I also love being able to shoot in portrait mode (even though I haven't used it much so far).
When it works , it's great. The auto stabilization is fantastic and videos are very good. The orientation auto-rotate is sketchy (about 1/2 my videos are upside down) and there is no way to rotate your files - not in camera, not in GoPro app, and not in Quik app either, not even in GoPro Plus...
Wow, what a total disappointment! I use these primarily on a motorcycle helmet when riding offroad. The first one locked up completely while filming 2.7/60, so I exchanged it for a new one. Second one also locks up, this past weekend after only 6.5 minutes of shooting video!! SIX MINUTES!!
While my original review stands I have had a long 'chat' with their support team. If you want to be able to see what you are recording at anything over 50fps you need a high end smartphone (a 'gaming' phone).
By far one of the best camera investments I've made. The 4K 60fps looks really good for such a small thing. The new Time-warp features are unbelievable. I was saving up to buy a the Ronin S, but after using the hero 7 black, I really don't think I need to rush out and get one.
