DJI Mavic 2 Pro

The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is not only a world class flying machine...it is also one of the world's best drones for aerial photography.

Iconic images

Did you know the first moon landing was captured ona Hasselblad camera?The Swedish camera giants lend their famous name to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, in the shape of the all-new L1D-20c camera. The L1D-20c possesses Hasselblad's unique Natural Colour Solution technology, and captures 20-megapixel aerial shots in incredible detail.

4k quality footage

Thanks to 4K 10-bit HDR support, the Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into a 4K TV with HLG. The brighter highlights and greater contrast you expect from HDR video are used to full effect here.

Timeless time-lapse

Time-lapse is a stunning visual effect and condenses footage into viewer-friendly segments. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro makes it easy to put this effect into place with the Hyperlapse feature.

Improved aerodynamic design for better footage

While there is much talk about the amazing Hasselblad camera, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro also boasts improved aerodynamic design. This provides for a smoother flight, a key factor in optimising the quality of still and video footage. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro flies as smooth a path as any machine of a similar price point.

More efficient, more flying time

A new propeller design adds to the efficiency allowing for longer flight times, and more opportunities to capture footage as a result. Expect a maximum flight time of 31 minutes at 25kph (no wind) and a maximum distance of 18 kilometres at a consistent 50kph (no wind).

Great!

I bought this drone specifically for the still picture quality. So far I'm pretty impressed. It's no replacement for a regular camera but it's a big improvement from the older models. Very intuitive to operate and the battery holds for a solid 20 minutes.

Crash on second flight. Not a very happy camper.

The thread in the Mavic Pilot forum is a complete dissection of my experience with this new drone. Had it two days and two spontaneous crashes. Looks like the right rear motor failed yet recovered. I would be very cautions about using it over people until this error is researched.

DJI Mavic 2 Pro review: High-tech drone gets Hasselblad high-five

DJI is the choice brand for anyone wanting a serious drone. Regardless of your budget or what size of drone you need, the company more than likely has something that will fit your needs.

Stunning footage; Great still photos; Obstacle avoidance is brilliant; Flight modes work really well; Super smooth flight - even in wind

It's expensive; Remote requires phone to be plugged in; App is still not the most user friendly; Non-HDR shots can be grainy

DJI's Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom take drone photography to new heights

Drone photography and videography has been around for a number of years, thanks to the popularity of drones from DJI and others. But if you've spent any amount of time looking at drone photos on Instagram, you've probably noticed that the images and video from drones all look very similar, and...

Excellent image quality; True flat color profile for video; Reliable flying controls; True optical zoom; Less expensive than the Pro model; Super-resolution mode for detailed stills; Reliable flying controls

Expensive; Not as portable as prior Mavic models; No major battery increase; Video lacks detail compared to Pro model; No major battery increase over prior Mavics

There are few out there who'd dispute the reality that DJI make the best drones consumers can realistically buy.

Maneuvers are really powerful tools; Long flight time

Doesn't feel like a major upgrade over last-gen; Expensive

DJI Mavic 2 Pro MAVIC2-PRO review

DJI Mavic 2 Pro review: These glorious heights

There are few out there who’d dispute the reality that DJI make the best drones consumers can realistically buy.

Make no mistake, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro is definitely a drone worth getting hyped up about. But unless you’re a diehard, it’s difficult to say whether it’s going to be worth grabbing on day one at full price.

Maneuvers are really powerful tools; Long flight time;

Doesn't feel like a major upgrade over last-gen; Expensive;
