With DJI Mavic Pro being the best foldable drone (I'll even dare to say BY FAR) available on the market, a ton of DJI fans are already turning their heads towards the next version.
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is not only a world class flying machine...it is also one of the world's best drones for aerial photography.
Did you know the first moon landing was captured ona Hasselblad camera? The Swedish camera giants lend their famous name to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, in the shape of the all-new L1D-20c camera. The L1D-20c possesses Hasselblad's unique Natural Colour Solution technology, and captures 20-megapixel aerial shots in incredible detail.
Thanks to 4K 10-bit HDR support, the Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into a 4K TV with HLG. The brighter highlights and greater contrast you expect from HDR video are used to full effect here.
Time-lapse is a stunning visual effect and condenses footage into viewer-friendly segments. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro makes it easy to put this effect into place with the Hyperlapse feature.
While there is much talk about the amazing Hasselblad camera, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro also boasts improved aerodynamic design. This provides for a smoother flight, a key factor in optimising the quality of still and video footage. The DJI Mavic 2 Pro flies as smooth a path as any machine of a similar price point.
A new propeller design adds to the efficiency allowing for longer flight times, and more opportunities to capture footage as a result. Expect a maximum flight time of 31 minutes at 25kph (no wind) and a maximum distance of 18 kilometres at a consistent 50kph (no wind).

DJI introduced the next iteration of the Mavic drone series in Brooklyn this morning. Replacing the Mavic Pro are two new drones: the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, and the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom. It's been almost two years since DJI first released the Mavic Pro, and DJI has included some major improvements to the pair...
DJI's bringing the Mavic Pro back, and it has a friend.
More of everything, but still ready to travel anywhere.
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro is the most powerful consumer drone you can buy thanks to its gimbal-stabilized Hasselblad camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor for stunning aerial 4K video and photos.
Great foldable drone design; 1-inch 4K camera sensor; New modes like Hyperlapse
Very expensive; Can't shoot 4K at 60fps; Mavic 2 Zoom is compelling alternative
At launch, the Mavic Pro had stiff competition from the GoPro Karma Drone and it looked set to be a colossal battle between the giants. In the end, the Karma crashed out and didn’t really make it past the starting line, while the Mavic Pro became a soaring success. Now there’s the Mavic 2 Pro.
Compact size; Intelligent flight modes; Hasselblad camera
I need one; It costs £1299
DJI's Mavic 2 line is unquestionably the king of the skies.
Omnidirectional obstacle avoidance; Responsive; reliable controls; Powerful autonomous flight; Excellent camera options
Non-modular cameras
DJI's original was a game-changer when landed in September 2016. Then the smallest camera-equipped flying machine in DJI's lineup, its foldable design has since been adopted by the , which is currently our favourite sub-£1,000 drone.
Superb image quality; Quiet; stable and fast flight; Long battery life; Safety features galore; Portable design
Some occasional app issues
Drone photography and videography has been around for a number of years, thanks to the popularity of drones from DJI and others. But if you've spent any amount of time looking at drone photos on Instagram, you've probably noticed that the images and video from drones all look very similar, and...
Excellent image quality; True flat color profile for video; Reliable flying controls; True optical zoom; Less expensive than the Pro model; Super-resolution mode for detailed stills; Reliable flying controls
Expensive; Not as portable as prior Mavic models; No major battery increase; Video lacks detail compared to Pro model; No major battery increase over prior Mavics
This thing is just amazing. Everything I loved about the first Mavic has been refined, updated, or improved. DJI did an amazing job with this. Total control and confidence while flying.
There are few out there who'd dispute the reality that DJI make the best drones consumers can realistically buy.
Maneuvers are really powerful tools; Long flight time
Doesn't feel like a major upgrade over last-gen; Expensive
