The product looks and works as described. It is fast, easy and quiet for its size. The size is helpful in cramped spaces; though not limited in functions for its size.

Do not know why anybody would want a printer these days that has to be plugged into print? I assumed it was wireless due to all of the other features.

This item is a brilliant fax machine, it does everything that you need it to, and the print quality is clear so very easy to read, no blotching or lines.

In an attempt to jump on the eco bandwagon Brother have built in a "feature" called deep sleep. By which when the machine is not used for some time ie over a weekend it enters deep sleep thus using less electricity.

This does not work well with answer machines or voice mail from phone company. This would have stopped me from buying it had I known. I still have my old fax machine plugged in & the new Brother fax is being used as a black & white copier instead. Great machine for dedicated fax line.

The 2840 boasts excellent laser output in a unit offering high speed fax transmission at 33.6 Kbps which breaks down to about 2.5 seconds a page. With print and copy speeds that can produce up to 21 pages per minute you're getting one terrific fax machine.

This unit replaced a MFC Inkjet that was being used as a fax machine in my home office. The MFC became unreliable at sending and receiving fax messages after I switched my phone lines to VOIP, so I replaced it with this. So far, I have been really happy with it.

Very easy to set up! I downloaded the software for this FAX from Brothers website and used that with a USB cord connected to my computer for the setup; I now have a very capable laser printer and a new fax machine for my home office.

The only con I can think of is the cost of the Brother toner compared to all the "compatible" toners on the market (which do not have the print quality of the Brother toners)

Had an old thermal piece of junk that always jammed was slow and used that primitive thermal roll. What a difference. The 2840 is fast sending receiving and printing out reports. See, no jams using recommended page. Did get off track setting up.

Very good service and delivered promptly. The Brother Fax machine is exactly what we were looking for and competitively priced and in stock! a lot of other providers didn't carry stock of this 'best buy'.
