What I expected, what I needed, what I got
*I haven't tested the fax capabilities of this unit (why are we still using 1960's tech I wish our company would dump it. We can do it people...all at once...GO!)
Pros:
- Duplex Scanning
Cons:
- Never been a fan of printer software suites, but this is fine (Not letting my bias affect the egg score)
- Can't a company make a third party package that works with the drivers without giving me a bunch of stuff I don't use Who does anything but scan and print out the occasional page anymore

My first laser printer
Having struggled with inkjet printers from other manufacturers for years I took the plunge and bought a Brother laser printer. This printer is easy to setup, offers great connectivity working seamlessly with both Apple and Microsoft products and has lots of bonus features.

Printer and Copier work, Scanner does not work.
Printer and Copier works good. Scanner does not work, always complains no connection.

Brother MFC-L2740DW
For black-and-white printing, the Brother MFC-L2740DW is the hands-down winner. Unlike fussy inkjets, happy owners say this laser all-in-one simply does its job, flawlessly and inexpensively, year after year.
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- long-lasting toner
- Proven reliability
- Sophisticated single-pass duplexer
- Generous paper capacity
- Hefty 2,000-page monthly duty cycle
Cons:
- Photos and graphics aren't mono laser strong points

Scanner disabled when low on toner

I would not recommend this product at all
This is my second brother MFC. It always goes "offline" and I then have to turn it off and back on every time I want to print something. I would not recommend this product at all.

Worked great until dark line on page of every sc
This has been working fine until a couple of months the ago. Then a thick dark line appeared on every scanned page. Bought a new drum andand toner and still there, wasting a fortune when I could have bought a new one!

Bad UI
Works OK, but terrible user interface. Trying to figure out how to scan-to-email was really hard. Using the touch-screen is clunky, slow, and confusing.
