This is my second brother MFC. It always goes "offline" and I then have to turn it off and back on every time I want to print something. I would not recommend this product at all.

The Brother MFC-L2740DW ($299.99) delivers a lot more than you might expect from a monochrome laser multifunction printer (MFP) that's small enough to share a desk with. Its speed and paper capacity are suitable for heavy-duty personal use or light- to moderate-duty use as a shared printer in a...
Prints, scans, faxes, copies; Automatic document feeder; Duplex (two-sided) printing and scanning; Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct
Output quality is at the low end of the range for monochrome laser MFPs; though it's still acceptable
The biggest strength of this inexpensive mono laser all-in-one is its handling of double-sided documents. (Its print costs are high, and the graphics printing isn't up to snuff.)
Compact for a laser AIO; Built-in ADF; Single-pass duplex copying; scanning; and faxing; Wide range of connectivity options; Handy menu-system shortcuts
Subpar graphics print quality; High per-page print costs for its class
The first time we received the low toner message we ordered a new cartridge right away but found the old one continued working for quite some time. When we began receiving the low toner message on the replacement we ordered one right away not expecting to need it for weeks if not months, but at...
Printer and Copier works good. Scanner does not work, always complains no connection.
Normally I only do reviews when it is a positive experience, but I am sadly stuck with two of these printers that each tanked at about 6 months old. We bought 3 for minimal use - to provide ourselves and two people we work with a low volume printing solution for their desks so they wouldn't have to...
Brother is the best way to go when it comes to all your printing needs. This is my 4th one. The only reason I bought this is because it's replacing a still perfectly good, 4-year old model that only faxes. .I needed an all-in-one to scan to email.
Overall, this does everything I need, and I'm very happy with the speed, print quality, material costs, etc. So here's what bugs me: ability to scan to my Macbook Pro via network is painful, buggy, just much more difficult that it should be. That's a function I really need to work easily!
I donated my MFC-7860DW, reluctantly and decided to purchase what I thought was an upgrade. I have only had this printer for a month and it will NOT stay connected to the wireless network for both of my computers. It constantly goes offline.
Brother has introduced a range of new laser printers for the SOHO market promising "affordable, compact and reliable" printing. The range includes standalone printers and all-in-ones, with RRPs ranging from just £90 (around $140, AU$165) to £251 (around $390, AU$460) including VAT.
