Overall a well made product with some limitations such as battery and manufacturer support. I have an identical unit several years old that does not work but might if there was more information available.

I finally broke down and upgraded my UPS. I had a very good UPS from APC, but since I now use Mac OS 10.8.5, I could not make use of the old UPS. The old UPS did not have a usb port. Well, I did buy it new in 2003 and it worked fine with the older Mac OS 9.x.

The outlets are little tight when plugging/unplugging. That's kind of a good thing though, so that yanking a cord by accident doesn't unplug anything.

...because their software allows you to set the voltage levels of electricity before the battery kicks in. It is the same thing as Automatic Voltage Regulation when you set the levels. Thats why APC costs 6% more than competeting products by other manufacturers but it is worth it.

We have been using APC for all our systems here. We switched to this model as our previouse was discontinued but used the same battery system.

I purchased this for my high end gaming computer. I did a test and even with a 750w Power Supply and dual video cards, the BE550G took 4 minutes to hit 50% battery life, which is more than sufficient for me to shut down.

Adequate Power; Easy To Set Up; Excelent value

I won't buy anything but an ACP surge product. About 18 months ago had a lightning strike take out our power supply, satellite receiver and new HD TV set. Took about 3 months to get the check, but no questions asked, the power supply was replaced almost immediately and sent a check for the TV.

Excellent stand by power source for the money. Surge protection on the 350 model saved a computer system and phone. It took the hit and cooked the battery but all items pluged in are working today.

I ordered this for my new computer, and we had a power flicker just a few hours after I set it up! It worked perfectly. There is software included that will let you check the status of the battery and tell the unit what to do if it loses power (such as turn off the computer). Very useful!
