I use this to manually dump files like photos and large documents that I don't use anymore from my mac to clear up space. It was a great price and does its job. I carry it in the amazonbasics hard case and it feels safe and barely takes up any space in my backpack.

I just recently purchased this so the proof is still being vetted (I have not had to rely on it yet to recover data for a crashed main drive - time will tell, although preliminary checks show it is working).

expected to be able to put items on harddrive to free up computer, dont know if im using it wrong or if it doesnt do it but def back up my macbook pro.

Works fine with Linux, using XHCI. I used this for backups, in addition to a few Toshiba 1TB USB 3 disks. Can't tell the difference in performance between them.

The rate at which this thing is able to transfer large movies, and other files is impressive. Although I don't use USB 3.0 a lot now, I'm sure that I will upgrade to it in the future, so I'm glad that it comes equipped with 3.0.

Does what it needs to, solid, light. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the dodgy software provided which is memory hungry. Probably have to uninstall most of it.

Best external Hard Drive I have ever purchased/owned. 1TB is plenty of space for everything. The Hard Drive fits in my pocket. Fast data transfer rates. Absolutely no noise or heat issues.

I have had this for about a month now and no issues. Transfer rates are good as advertised. The drive stays nice and cool, this was a concern when I bought it, but it doesn't produce much heat at all. Overall I am very pleased with this drive, I just hope it lasts. Time will tell.
