basic by pc standards(elite games) and moneys bit easy to come by which helps starting out but if you dont have to work hard for cash you can be 100% max powered most the time.

The Privateer series, the Wing Commander series, X3, Elite, Freespace, Freelancer, Starlancer, and now DarkStar One (We can Most missions start with an interface similar to that of Privateer.

It's been out on the PC for years, but DarkStar One: Broken Alliance's expansive brand of space madness is a rare commodity on consoles. At times unforgiving and unrepentantly rough around the edges, this space combat sim demands patient and careful play. Is that asking too much in this day and age?

DarkStar One: Broken Alliance fast-paced action within a vast and authentic universe that sees players exploring the vast reaches of space, encountering, battling and trading with six mysterious alien races in a quest to unravel the mysterious death of the protagonist's father.

Despite this, DarkStar One still manages to feel fresh, open and free of frustration - it's easy to lose yourself in the adventure. If you're prepared to put up with a little bit of grinding and can deal with some of the more repetitive missions outside of the main quest, there's a lot here to...

By Brad Russell The flight simulation genre hasn't had a ton of standouts, and most of the memorable ones, even if you haven't played such games, have leaned heavily to the arcade style of one mission at a time.

If DarkStar One: Broken Alliance for the Xbox 360 seems entirely too familiar to some gamers, it's because it is a four-year old PC game. Don't expect any new features though. Broken Alliance is a basic port, with a new control interface, and a shiny graphical overcoat.

You remember Elite , right? How about Frontier , X3 , Freespace , Homeworld , Starlancer or I-War ? If the answer's no, then the odds are good that this console port of Darkstar One will be a considerable breath of fresh air, and something definitely worth checking out if you're bored of Shooter...
