The story, game play and screen shots all seem a lot like the Freelancer game for the PC which is not a bad thing because Freelancer was a very great game.
It looks like a very good game but it seems like a indirect copy of a game called FREELANCER made by microsoft (a very good game BTW
Flight control? (not really sure i have never played this game
Dark star one puts you in command of a fighter aircraft, where you can explore a galaxy, do missions, attack freighters, kill pirates or even mine asteroids. the idea of the space shooter goes back a long long time, the most known one was probably freespace, darkstar one tries to be as good as it...
I loved DarkStar One on my PC. So much so that when I accidentally found a version for teh Xbox 360 I immediately bought it. BIG MISTAKE! The Xbox version of this game is done by amateurs who don't know anything a about flight/space sims, and that's why this version is crap that I will never play...
These days you do not get many opportunities on current consoles to explore the galaxy shooting space pirates and trading goods, therefore DarkStar One: Broken Alliance fills a very large void.
Originally released on PC four years ago Darkstar One has taken its sweet time to come to console. Has it been worth the wait?
More than 20 hours long; entertaining space combat
Average graphics; ill conceived menus; poor voice acting; repetitive missions
Despite this, DarkStar One still manages to feel fresh, open and free of frustration - it's easy to lose yourself in the adventure. If you're prepared to put up with a little bit of grinding and can deal with some of the more repetitive missions outside of the main quest, there's a lot here to...
Vast Universe to explore; Space combat is enjoyable; Relatively frustration free
There's some required grinding; Side missions can get repetitive; Graphics can seem 2006 rather than 2010
Once upon a time, there was a little genre called Space Simulations . Games like Elite, Freelancer, X and I-War crowded store shelves and allowed us to explore masterfully-crafted universes at our own pace; trading and battling our way to bigger ships and a brighter tomorrow.
Accessible controls; combat; trading and customisation open up the genre; An enormous; attractive galaxy to explore and conquer; It's a Space Sim! On a console!
Accessible controls; combat; trading and customisation open up the genre; An enormous; attractive galaxy to explore and conquer; It's a Space Sim! On a console! FINALLY; Horrible voice acting; even outside cutscenes; Newcomers to the genre may find it extremely repetitive; Ship customisation isn't...
basic by pc standards(elite games) and moneys bit easy to come by which helps starting out but if you dont have to work hard for cash you can be 100% max powered most the time.
This is the worse game ive ever played!! Granted the cut scenes graphics are epic and cinematic but game play lets it down!! Ship is very hard to control, upgrades are slow and confusing, alot of travelling not much action.....i could be here all day simply awful, just awful......
