2017 marks the tenth anniversary of the iPhone. What I remember most about the first iPhone was my sense of astonishment. Sure, it had its flaws, but I felt like I was holding the future of computing in the palm of my hand.

Gorgeous OLED display; Face ID works better than expected; Excellent photo quality; Greatly improved processing speed

Expensive; Mixed results with Portrait Lighting; Extra caution needs to be taken with the all-glass design

The iPhone X – pronounced iPhone "Ten" – is the expensive flagship handset Apple developed to mark the tenth anniversary of the original iPhone and it's startlingly similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Apple iPhone X

I came home late from my first day of testing the iPhone X. My wife sent me audio clips over iMessage from the kids after I sent them pictures of myself, now beardless. "O-M-G. I can't even recognize Daddy!" I couldn't recognize myself either.

A great blend of handheld comfort and a big, gorgeous OLED screen; Rear telephoto camera outshoots the 8 Plus in low light, and the front camera snaps impressive portrait selfies; Face ID generally works fine

New interface and no home button mean major adjustments, and key features such as the Control Center are harder to reach and use; It'll take time for most apps to be optimized for notched screen; The phone is hella expensive, and the all-glass design means a case and an insurance plan are musts

Apple iPhone X review: The best iPhone no doubt, but be careful

Apple iPhone X review: The flagship launches exactly a decade after the first iPhone, which changed the way the world used phones. Here is our full review.

This is the most unique looking Apple phone in recent times; That is because Apple has gotten rid of the iconic Home button and given the front solely for its bezel-less screen; By bezel-less Apple doesn't mean a display that bends into the edges.

Apple iPhone X review: This is as good as it gets

Ten years ago, the best smartphone one could buy either ran a mobile version of Windows, came with a stylus, lacked any sort of app ecosystem, or had a physical keyboard that allowed you to hammer out emails for hours on end.

Impressive screen; Solid battery life; Face ID is amazing

Expensive; Portrait Mode is still finicky

Apple iPhone X Review

The iPhone X is Apple's most exciting smartphone to date. We are sure of that. It's not just a nod to the original iPhone but also a blueprint for the company's future smartphones.

* Attractive design; * Premium build; * Great display and cameras; * Powerful TrueDepth Camera System with Face ID; * Animoji; * Water-resistance; * Fast Wireless charging

The iPhone X is the most radical change to the iPhone formula ever, and despite some concerns, Apple has built a seriously impressive machine. We love its build quality and comfortable design, not to mention its expansive screen and great performance.

Impeccable build quality; Face ID generally works well; Great performance; Good main cameras get even better

The lack of a home button takes some getting used to; Not all apps use the whole screen; Portrait selfies are hit-or-miss; Battery life could be better

Apple iPhone X: Great phone, but far too expensive

The new iPhone X unlocks with Face ID, has the largest display ever seen on an iPhone and dumps the home button - but it's just too pricey

Edge to edge display; Face ID is brilliant; Superb camera and screen

Too expensive
