You can import photos from a Mac, PC or digital camera, see them organised as albums, and enjoy and share them using iPad's elegant slideshows. Watch movies, TV shows and YouTube or flip through pages of an e-book you downloaded from Apple's new iBookstore while listening to your music collection.

Tune in Partners The iPad, which has been the subject of intense interest and speculation over the past year, was launched today by Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs at a special event in San Francisco.

That said, the iPad sets the standard for an entertainment tablet and it's incredibly fun and easy to use. It's hard to imagine even die-hard geeks not enjoying it when they take a break from grumbled about its limitations and restrictions.

Con: No Flash support; no iSight built-in

Price: Starting at $499 for 16GB Wi-Fi model; up to $829 for 64GB Wi-Fi + 3G

We review the Apple iPad. Can it change the way we think about tablet computers? By now, you've likely read a bunch of iPad reviews. There's no point in reading another review outlining every dimension, spec and feature.

Review of Apple iPad 32 GB Wi-Fi

This weekend many witnessed the release of Apple's iPad; an event that could be equated to the premiere of a summer blockbuster movie. James Cameron's Avatar and Apple's iPad have more in common than most can imagine.

Breakfast in New York. Sitting in a booth at Cafe Habana, people are staring as I type emails on the iPad. For now, it grabs too much attention, for better or worse, with its big swoopy animations and skittles glow-erific screen. It's not as strange as if I were hammering away on a laptop.

So what's the score, what's the rub, and should you buy it? We've used it all over the house and the office. As a desk companion it's great, on the sofa it is also good as long as you acknowledge that you are using what amounts to a laptop.

Watch movies; play games; read books; great screen

Will cost you to fill it with useful stuff; can't multitask yet; limited to what Apple offers you

Apple iPad review

The iPad is a great tool if you only need the capabilities of an iPhone with a large screen. Sure, email and the browser excel here, but to make it perfect for everything else, it needs much better security and you'll have to purchase the extra dock and keyboard to make working on the move viable.
