I use the amp to listen to CD's. It has plenty of clean power to drive higher end speakers that require a lot of power. Sounds excellent at any volume. An outstanding value with great features.
Plenty Of Good Clean Powe
I own 2 Onkyo stereo receivers and 1 Harmon Kardon. All with good specifications, especially the old Harmon Kardon. This Yamaha made my tower speakers sound better than I have ever heard.
Very satisfied with this amp. Sound is clear at low and high volume driving my Polk RTi8 speakers and Polk HTS10 sub. Ive always liked the Yamaha loudness control for lower volume listening. And I occasionally rattle the windows with vintage vinyl rock. Music that was made loud to be played loud.
Speaker wire contacts in the rear of amp can be either naked wire or banana clips easily accepts 12 gauge wire
iam very happy I bought this a month ago and would recommend it too my friends
So recently I have owned a few integrated amps, to characterize each----- Marantz WARM (a little too smooth) NADFLAT (no punch) CambridgeWARM and FORWARD (powerful) For the price range that I can afford, these are all good amps but just missed the mark for my ears.
Very powerful and; adjustable (tone control) to meet individual preference
Must set LOUDNESS button to find tonal match for room acoustics
