My first external, and a great choice.
I've read another review stating that this drive requires paid software " which you must use to operate the drive," and there's a lot of misinformation to that. This drive comes with trial software for cloud storage.
Pros:
- I've only been using it for a week, but so far it works swimmingly
- My usb ports are 2.0, but the speeds on it are great and I've been running current gen games off of it with zero issues
- For anyone in dire need of space but you don't want to replace your main drive quite yet, this is a good option
Cons:
- The case feels a tad thin and the cable it's packed in is a bit more than a foot long
- It goes without saying but try not to drop this thing
- You might want to look into buying another cable if you want to place your external somewhere farther away

Do small and light, bought a 10 ft cord ...
Do small and light, bought a 10 ft cord to go with it so I can keep it tucked away in drawer and use with whatever device. Con: can,t connect directly to Samsung s2 tablet directly, literally no way, issue is power and no special cord to supplement power that connects to s2 (am sure on this)

Working great, this WHOLE week!
The hard drive just arrived a week ago. It was and is everything I was expecting it to be. It could last for 50 years or 50 days, I just don't know yet, but B&H sent me an email requesting I review it, so here it is. I'm sure you've found this review ridiculously helpful.

Makes noise
I use it to play movies through my tv, the spinning of the hard drive makes considerable noise, very noticeable. Not great for quiet rooms. Otherwise good.

Works as expected
No issues with this drive. I like the 'frustration-free' packaging, and the fact that it did not come preloaded with dumpster-ware. It was a true plug-n-play experience.
