Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Nathan Drake is back for yet another breathtaking adventure. Is Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception the best chapter in the series thus far?

Great production values; great level design; good multiplayer modes; something for everyone

Complicated and poorly told story; sluggish camera; gameplay gets a little too familiar

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Map Pack Review (PS3)

When it was first announced last year, Naughty Dog's Fortune Hunters' Club promised fans a discounted wad of digital content for Uncharted 3's blockbuster multiplayer component. Quickly mulling over the sums, anyone who enlisted in the twenty quid scheme easily got their money's worth, though some...

Gorgeous and well structured; Features locations previously left untouched; New in-game set pieces

No additional side-content; Pricing is steep for non FHC-ers

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

Uncharted 3 will undoubtedly be compared to its predecessor, for the two standalone leagues ahead of their genre. The sheer level of intensity, played out in the most cinematic blockbuster action packed scenes to grace a gaming platform, with a surprising level of variety and detail that resonates...

Unprecedented cinematic excellence; Stunningly beautiful throughout; Fantastic and witty cast of characters

Occasional combat difficulty spikes; Gun based combat harms the immersion; Combat focused multiplayer

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

There's an action sequence in the first Uncharted game where everything suddenly clicks into place, and for a fleeting moment it feels like you're starring in a Hollywood movie. It may only last about half a minute, but it has come to define the PS3-exclusive series as it stands today.

High production values; spectacular action; technically impressive

Simplistic; contrived; scripted

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Review (PS3)

That which is not broken needs little to fix it, but a tiny bit more polish might have been nice Oh Naughty Dog. You had all the pieces to make Uncharted the greatest gaming trilogy ever, and just fumbled it ever-so-slightly at the final hurdle.

One of the best examples of storytelling to date; good platforming and puzzling; epic level design with truly breathtaking vistas; truly brilliant voice acting and character interaction; answers many questions while throwing up a few new ones; Multiplayer and co-op are great fun

Combat is still a bit flat; enemy types have little variance; final third is a straight rip of Uncharted 2

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 Review

Drake's Deception hits a sweet spot. It takes everything I love about the Uncharted franchise and finds new, unpredictable ways to surprise and shock. There isn't anything notably bad about Uncharted 3, it provides an absolutely stunning single player experience that its contemporaries should...

Uncharted 3 is a thrill ride. You cant deviate from the track, and you certainly cant stop the engine, but really, why would you want to?

GAME REVIEW – Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PlayStation 3)

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is the quintessential PlayStation 3 game. It has it all: breathtaking graphics, glorious sound, stereoscopic 3D (if you have a TV that supports it), and rock solid gameplay that makes you feel like you are Nathan Drake. What's more, it has real heart.
