Koei Tecmo has been on a tear the last couple of years releasing video games. Toukiden Kiwami is the most recent release to march its way into Family Friendly Gaming Nation. Players take on the role of a slayer. Their goal is to slay the massive demons that threaten the world.

The PlayStation 4 may never get a real Monster Hunter game but this portable remaster is the next best thing, and a useful improvement on the PS Vita original.

I never caught on to the "Monster Hunter" genre, the type of games inspired by the insanely popular Capcom series of the same name, whose influence has extended into similar games such as Soul Sacrifice , Freedom Wars , and Toukiden: The Age of Demons .

Toukiden: Kiwami is an expanded package for fans of monster hunting who missed the original Vita release last year. The re-release brings the game to PS4, and while it still feels like a handheld game, it's a unique offering for those without a Vita.
