Toukiden Kiwami Review

Monster Hunter is a bit of a global phenomenon. Despite its relative niche-ness it has a massive fan base and has spanned multiple consoles and generations. As a series it normally ties itself to a pa

Toukiden: Kiwami review (PS4)

Suffering from a mild case of burnout, I told myself it was time to find shorter and less demanding games to play while I recovered. Doing so would also allow me to write more reviews, which was desirable since I've spent months barely covering anything at all. I was pleased with my new resolution.

Fancy a vacation? How about to the feudal eras of Japan? Well, you can get close enough in Toukiden: Kiwami , the sequel to Toukiden: Age Of Demons . Toukiden: Kiwami (PS4) - Review

I never caught on to the "Monster Hunter" genre, the type of games inspired by the insanely popular Capcom series of the same name, whose influence has extended into similar games such as Soul Sacrifice , Freedom Wars , and Toukiden: The Age of Demons .

Toukiden Kiwami

Koei Tecmo has been on a tear the last couple of years releasing video games. Toukiden Kiwami is the most recent release to march its way into Family Friendly Gaming Nation. Players take on the role of a slayer. Their goal is to slay the massive demons that threaten the world.

Toukiden Kiwami

Toukiden Kiwami is a fun game on the PlayStation 4 with some great gameplay that really sets itself apart for what is available on the console at the moment with games like this.

Playing Toukiden: Kiwami, I found that I enjoyed it a lot more on my television than on my Vita. I think a lot of that has to do with how nice this game looks on the PS4. It's an attractive title that fills a Monster Hunter-esque niche quite well for console owners.

Review: Toukiden: Kiwami (Sony Playstation 4)

Many titles have come out in attempts to capitalize on the success of Capcom's popular Monster Hunter franchise of games. Originally released last year on the Playstation Vita, Toukiden: The Age of Demons was Tecmo Koei's admirable attempt at replicating Capcom's effective game formula.

This is a very fun game. By the time you become adept at a weapon, the game is over and it becomes somewhat redundant by doing the same things with increased difficulty. However, it does allow you to continue the battle and further improve weapons, gear, and the mitama assistance people of whom...

Toukiden: Kiwami review – monster?upgrade

The PlayStation 4 may never get a real Monster Hunter game but this portable remaster is the next best thing, and a useful improvement on the PS Vita original.

The combat and computer-controlled allies are arguably better than Capcom's games; Decent graphics and surprisingly good AI; New content, weapons, and enemies are all to the good

Mission and enemy designs still suffer from a serious lack of variety; Throwaway story and a less intricately constructed world than Monster Hunter
